Is everyone only getting one challenge a day? The two other boxes have always said locked for me.

You get one challenge per day, but you can have up to three of them active at once. If you don't do today's challenge until tomorrow, today's challenge will still be the first slot and tomorrow's will appear in the second slot. And if you leave both of these for another day, the next challenge will appear in the third slot. And then you won't get another challenge until you complete one of the three active challenges.
