Flipping heck. Did they have to give us 2 updates at the same time. Couldn't they have given the mono one some other time. And now I've read we are susposed to be having another update on the 16th according to another thread. Come on EA slow down a bit. Freemium players must be going out of their minds trying to get what they want with what donuts they've got without all these updaets at once especially limited items. Spread your updates out a bit.

Imo since the level updates were taken away and now all these updates are coming thick and fast the game for me doesn't seem as fun as it used to be.

Couldn't disagree more. Pacing of updates has be great IMHO. The monorail update is permanent so what's the hurry? The games should only take 3-5 days or so leaving another week or so for downtime/catch-up. Keep calm and tap on...

I know its permanent but as I said before couldn't it have been done some other time?

So a big event and then 2 small ones (mono being an updated version) seems good? I say no. In the past we used to have down time. I would like to have down time brought back.

I get the sentiment 'cause a little 'standard' time in game is always nice.... but looking at it from the flip side, they are in this to make money, so if they can keep the constant flow of limited time items/mini-events/major events rolling in one after another, maybe some of those freemium players will break down and spend some real $$ on donuts to get the content....

anyway, no one says you have to participate in every update... make your own downtime if that's what you want and just play...
I want to have the new items and I don't want to miss any limited items. (Just ignore my rant am a moaning bugger at times)

To be fair, the Monorail is a permanent element of the game, it isn't a limited time event. And the requirements were also significantly lowered.

Also, we don't Know there's an update on the 16th- it's speculation based on thats the date for phasing out older devices/operating systems

Not really, no. I'm a freemium player with a full time job and a busy life. I haven't had any problems getting all the prizes offered during the last several events without rushing anything or spending a single donut.

I get where you're coming from but I also want to let other freemium players, especially new ones, that it's quite possible to pick up all the prizes in the time we're given.

I'm having a tough time deciding on what, if any, premium items I buy, I'm afraid I might just end up finding whatever I get a waste by the time we get a supposedly huge update on the 16th.

The three things I can't decide on are:
Cristo of Springfield- I like the look of it and might be fun to try and incorporate into the town but is most likely to be dumped in inventory if space/item limits catch up to me, and it doesn't have a multiplier as far as I'm aware.

Country flag bundle- As already stated it's the best donut:multiplier ever but it's a space hog too and I already have a lot of multipliers either hidden or thrown in the corner already.

Lugash is the toughest choice in this update, I will want to get him at some stage but I have a lot of other cheaper and more desirable characters I want first. Do I get him now and save 40 donuts in the future or should I act as if this deal isn't even here and carry on buying them at the rate and order I already planned?

And ofcourse there's the chance that Gil will make an appearance with something desirable too.

I'd appreciate any opinions and feedback, thanks in advance! :D

I'm not sure the the "big" update August 16th is what everyone thinks but is an actual well....update. To improve the item limit and other things like that.

Can't be done another time. It's been permanent since the event ended. SH is permanent, are you still working on that? There's players that need to progress there still - it's all in due time. Permanent parts of the game you can work on where you see fit. Most of the time, they can be done at the same time. Phase one did pull a number of monorail characters, but there are still a bunch of others that can still be sent every 1-3 hours. Just like there's a larger pool of characters that are still sent to SH, Duff Gardens and Krustyland. It all depends on where your focus is. To say the least, the monorail has been easily maintainable to each of the major events (Casino, Wild West, Superheroes 2, etc). So it shouldn't change here for this minor update. The prize track for the monorail will just repeat the next week if you take the week off. No big deal.

TSTO does not offer downtime anymore. They are catering to the players that play FG:QFS. Where the expectation is that downtime does not exist and when 1 event ends, the next begins. It's been like this for a while now in TSTO. As someone else said, the only downtime you get, is just not participating in events, or simply playing the game more to finish early.

    +1

Participation in mini-events or any event, for that matter, is optional. It's a game, not a job.

FG hardly has any downtime-- one event or mini-event after another-- non-stop. Tapped Out events last longer than FG events, too, and players in Tapped Out complain when events take too long to end, while others are bored when an event is over and there's nothing going on. :?

Got them already and those who missed out because of indecision and having remorse for missing out will start complaining that they were removed early.

To keep the player engaged. Basically the monorail update is more like SH. Was a very minor update.

If there's downtime, (some) players will uninstall the game.

If the idea is to make money, then it is EA's interest to add more premium content - so that us the players will buy donuts to get that content. I understand this is a free game, but the game only lives on due to the premium players that continue to buy donuts and support the game. The monorail allows you to earn donuts to purchase these new items.

@gamergd3 people won't uninstall the game because there's downtime. People use that time to redesign their towns or whatever. I know ea make need to make money (boy have they done that). A little downtime wouldn't hurt. It happend before so it would be nice to happen again. Am not alone in thinking this. I just think it's ridiculous having all these events come thick and fast.

The mystery box contains the tap ball costumes. If you have them already it should not be available for you. Matador Grampa, Jockey Bart (With Furious D-best prize imo), Tennis Marge. I'm guessing another one too. Can't recall.
