I wouldn’t count myself as a particularly big fan of John Williams’ film scores, but I’ve always like his work on Sleepers, a mediocre movie with a few nice performances (and some really bad ones). Here's the finale.
I was listening today to rock historian Ed Ward (on NPR’s Fresh Air ) recount the history of the New Zealand band, The Chills. “Pink Frost” is from their 1986 album, Kaleidoscope World.
I referenced John Williams in this thread a while back, but Thomas Newman is probably my favorite modern film composer. The following is one of his lesser-known pieces, the finale to Unstrung Heroes.
