Sorry if this has already been mentioned, I'm on holiday so haven't been online - but why am I suddenly getting hundreds of emails from EA with messages from people (most of whom I don't even know!) that make absolutely no sense when I read them? I read like five then figured I must be getting them by mistake...?

You have probably been added to a group chat PM, or you need to go into your notification setting and turn off all the emails notifications to stop getting them.

Thanks neo! Why have strangers added me to a group chat?? Weirdos! How do I turn my notifications off (On a phone)?

@juliet603 Are you using the mobile version of the site or a desktop version? If you have chrome downloaded as an app you can set the phone to select desktop view which in my opinion makes viewing the forum MUCH easier.

To turn off the notifications go into your setting (little cog at top right if in desktop view) click edit profile then you will see "Notification Preferences" you can change them all there

I think it was on desktop version it gives you the option to leave discussion. To go to desktop on mobile tap on the three lines at the top left hand side. Go to full site click on the envelope to show pms click on the group you were added to and the click on leave conversation. And to get back to mobile version scroll to the bottom at tap go back to mobile version.

Edit. You will see in your emails that someone will have added you to the chat.

You probably got added to the Fight Club group the other day Juliet.... we were excited to share not in main chat - I think over 150 of us got invited....

pretty sure Nuking your town is the way to avoid group PM's --- yes.....

Now why didn't you tell me to do that in the first place. I love to nuke my time I've done it 5 times so far.

I used to be pro-town nuking.... but after my recent excursion with trying to set out my template town... I am not so sure. It was a hard undertaking......
