Railyard Conspiracy Theory

Prev1
Is anyone else's Railyard board screwing with them during this event? Cletus and Skinner are off fighting monsters, Milhouse and Martin are tied up with trick or treating, and yet EVERY SINGLE PROJECT on my board requires plastic to turn in. This has been happening since the event started. Comic Book Guy is on his own to regenerate the supply. And he's truly on his own because I have zero interest in donutting up for Uriah. Dam you Sebastian Cobb for conspiring to keep me away from my 5 mystery track pieces and 5 donuts at the end of the week! #firstworldproblems

  • I had this problem, too, but I've already made it through to the end of the prize track, so it's possible.
  • Yeah, I made it last week too, I just didn't cruise to it the way I normally do!
  • Oh no it might take an entire day.
  • My rail yard was glass intensive this week. I finished in one day and then sent everyone back to their event tasks. There wasn't much of an impact. I'm almost done with the last prize in the track.

Since they have reduced the numbers for the railyard, it takes very little time. I didn't bother taking people off their Halloween tasks and still only took two days to complete. If we had the old limits, then it would have been a problem and I would have had to remove people from Halloween tasks.
  • Mine was mostly glass too this time around, and very big payouts. Took a day to complete. Really, can't complain.
  • It's easy enough to hold out big **** Skinner and Cletus from doing monster fights, I think you can have up to 10 in your town at once.
  • mostly plastic for me this week.... still finished in just over 12 hours.... if you have Crazy Cat Lady, just use her and Apu for monster attacks while Cletus/Skinner are gathering plastics...
  • I feel like whatever resource you have less of is what it wants. Some weeks I feel like its Plastic or Metal...depending on what I'm low on. :/ But it's possible, I finished my grind yesterday. Slow but still. It's doable
  • I was almost all metal this week. I always fill my materials to max (155 glass, 180 plastic, 280 metal) to prep for the next week, and on Tuesday I only just got glass back to 65 (where you can refill) by the time I hit my 25000 blueprints for the week. I used a little more plastic, but cycled through metal 4-5 times.
  • No problems here.....got my rail yard donuts today. :)
  • there is plenty of time to finish rail yard and act 1 if you must do rail yard
  • It was all cans for me at first and now all plastic. Almost to the donuts, not grinding really hard of course. Most everyone is doing event. 30 plastic at a time. I'll get there though.

If I could do it in a day, do you think I would've posted this thread?

If you don't mind my asking how do you do it that fast? Are you speeding up tasks? Checking a bunch of times throughout the day? I'm only at freemium player so I don't have a lot of the extras that might help me out.

  • I don't speed any tasks and just finished the rail yard. Needed lots of metal this time. I also did not remove anyone from THOH tasks. I did set the timer on my phone and during the day, I was able to keep the rail yard going as soon as the timer chimed. Also I had Apu and Krusty doing the battling instead of Cletus and Skinner when only two people were needed to fight in THOH (and I needed plastic in RY). Good luck.
  • You can manipulate the desired materials,

Say you have 3 plastic options, if you turn in a project that turns into a metal or glass project you just want to save the metal or glass project until you turn in the other two plastics. This almost always will change the board. On the other hand if you immediately turn that new metal or glass project in (while still holding two plastic projects) the next one will be plastic.

@hackamacka1 seriously? Good to know. Thanks, that'all be really helpful :)
@diddoboydiddo yes on the checking lots through the day. I also set a timer so I can pop in and keep em making materials.

I have my metal/plastic/glass supply maxed out from the previous week (get them to 5 below their max level and then send everyone on one last gathering trip to overshoot the cap by the most possible). When the new week starts, that's typically enough to blast through the first level and a good chunk of the second. Then it's just checking in to reset when the tasks are complete. I'm able to log in during my work day, so it's not a big deal to take 30 seconds to pop in, clear/reset the recycling tasks and log out. First check in for me is around 5am when I get up; and the railyard tasks were complete by 6pm.

  • Or, to heck with that rail yard grind. I'm not that addicted to donuts.

    Now if they were chocolate...
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!
