mostly plastic for me this week.... still finished in just over 12 hours.... if you have Crazy Cat Lady, just use her and Apu for monster attacks while Cletus/Skinner are gathering plastics...

This is what I did and finished in 1 day, easy peasy.
  • Every new project has plastic for me this week. There have been a few with just trash, but yes, loads of plastic. Will take me the entire week to get through it. I also have the hippie to help, but still taking a long time when I usually finish in 24 hours. Most weeks it's been metal intensive. Metal and glass supply has been full for 2 days.

  • No kidding. All that work for a measly 5 donuts?

It's gold dust to some people, especially for those who are freemium players.

  • I send Crazy Cat Lady and Apu to fight the monsters while the Rail Yard is on. Occasionally, if I need two people to fight a double monster, I will send Krusty as well. This enables Skinner and Cletus to go and help out Comic Book Guy recycling Plastic while Martin and Milhouse trick-or-treat!

What I generally find is that the Rail Yard asks you for the resource that you have the LEAST amount of. So, I make sure that I don't use up my plastic much, but allow myself to spend the glass and metal as it's easier to get. (I don't know if this is true, I just find that the Rail Yard always asks you for the stuff you HAVEN'T got!) :p

Or, to heck with that rail yard grind. I'm not that addicted to donuts.

    Now if they were chocolate...

Forget the donuts, I'd give them up if it guaranteed I'd only get straight track pieces all week.

    Extremely good point.

  • I feel like whatever resource you have less of is what it wants. Some weeks I feel like its Plastic or Metal...depending on what I'm low on. :/
This. Exactly is the story of My Springfield ;)

That's what I'm sayin'! I'm staring at three more plastic requests as we speak!

Thanks everyone who reminded me that I don't need to keep all those monster fighters free and can use some for the rail yard. At the beginning of the event I thought more monsters would spawn than actually did so I was wasting time having them stand around waiting for something to happen.

  • I did that too.

  • One of my problems that sometimes happens now that they lowered the amount to 25K is that I mistakenly fill up a specific resource too early. Long ago you knew you were going to repeatedly dip into all three resources, but now it's possible you'll only have one or two glass projects. As such, I won't be paying close enough attention and I'll top of my glass too early (i.e. have 80 of the 70 limit) and then I'll get annoyed.
  • Even with characters away, I still completed rail yard for the week. Also on track with event, Count Burns, booberella and Suzanne getting me film.
  • It just took a little over 24 hours to complete. Metal cans were demanding this time. At least metal cans are just an hour and not 2 or 3 hours.

  • I managed to finish today, so now I'm slowly stocking up on plastic in anticipation for the new week lol. Definitely is harder as a freemium player and I guess I'm just not as good at strategies as others.
But we already did it. It took seven hours, but we did it. It's done.
