Tapping monsters with no payout?

Several times (10+) I have tapped one of those monsters running around and it just explodes, and I get no film or coins. I know the coins were not every monster but the film was a guaranteed drop and now it isn't dropping. Anyone else?

I restarted, didn't work so I uninstalled, restarted again and reinstalled, still isn't paying out 2 or 3 of every 5 I tap.

Update: So I contacted EA and the lady couldn't help so she passed it on to the "expert team" and now I have to wait for an email from them. *sigh*

Update again: They're working again. I did notice in the Bugs section that several other people have had the same issue. I recommended they contact EA since hard-resetting, uninstall, hard-reset again and then reinstall didn't work for me.

I have a bit of a twist on this: I earned about 300 film or so, exited, hard closed (I found I have to do this every time with this event), came back an hour later and those 300 or so film had disappeared into the ether.

I know sometimes the trick-or-treaters don't always pay out obols. I think you have to carefully tap on the thumbs up on each of them instead of the trick-or-treat bag in the corner, even though that seems like an easier way to do it.
