Time to put this obol nonsense to rest... (obol spoilers within)

Act 2: Medium Obol Packs=250 obols each (Act 2, 2nd and 5th prize)
Act 3: Large Obol Packs=450 obols each (Act 3, 3rd and 6th prizess)

that is 1400 obols just from prize tracks in acts 2 and 3. originally these were coded as 20 for the medium obol pack and 30 for the large obol pack, but EA changed in a patch after the release, why only act 1 obol pack on prize track was so small

plus, if you look at the MAG prize track, in addition to unlocking more obol producing jobs, there are 600 total obols in prizes along the way 100x2 and 200x2

that is 2000 obols in addition to what you tap and generate with trick or treaters

  • So that should cover the worthless stuff I don't actually want that I am forced to craft to level up...what about the things I actually want to craft?

tap the buggers and keep your trick or treaters busy..plenty of obols to craft what you want. what prize do you want that you do not feel you will be able to craft?

Well, for most of this first act, those rodents weren't accumulating for me, so I had to search them out by hiding everything in edit mode, which put me far behind on them. I had to redesign my town to get them so I could see them. I would like multiples of some of the buildings, but of course those aren't the ones that give out MAG points. I just really don't like that I have to spend them on stupid decorations I won't even be able to sell later.

you dont HAVE to level up unless you want the MAG prizes. if you just want a bunch of buildings then just craft the buildings instead. however, things will definitely get quicker as you move along the quest line since MAG prizes include new character jobs that produce obols and obol packs. that being said, i think this event is like several other recent events where you just have to churn out a bunch of random decorations....do not disagree with you there. this post was mostly for those concerned about having enough obols due to seeming slowness in act 1.

definitely like last years halloween format where you picked what kind of nightmare was being produced so you could decide which prize you crafted...which for most of us was wailing walls haha....cant beat that

Yes, I have to level up to unlock buildings for crafting.

all i can say is you can still craft plenty of what you want, does not mean you do not have to put some effort into getting to the craft level...but obol shortage should not be an issue

im hoping EA trys something new next event besides all this excessive crafting like the last few events. i think it is getting a bit much, i do not disagree with you there...especially with our inventory not able to categorize well or sort through easily.

  • I have to say that overall this event is a blast! My favorite Halloween event since I joined in 2013. I agree about the crafting and slowness of Obals though. I don't enjoy wasting hard earned Obals on crafting items that I know will end up going straight into my ever growing inventory.
  • Amen about the excessive crafting, Evant. I find it loathsome busywork. I suppose it's a brilliant game strategy though to keep us tapping around but use that donut money for new programmers and strategists to come up with something new --- or just bring back the spinning wheel of prizes :)

Ever watch the new version of Westworld? It's fun to pretend that the Narrative people also have night jobs creating Events for Tapped Out.
  • I feel like I'm missing something because I am always short on obols... and I don't need the prizes as I have most of them from past Halloween events.

agree @tiffermull there are lot of dynamics in the event which is better than just a single task line of just collecting films, but i do not think many (or any) of us long term players have the interest (or space) for everything we need to craft, so it just ends up in our ever growing inventories. at this point it would just be nice to spice things up for game players and try something new next event. at least with last year's THOH you could generate the currency you wanted to craft the items you wanted by changing the nightmare, rather than a single currency and having to follow a crafting task line like recent events.

ps *electronically transfers all excessive inventory to tiffer to deal with
  • Good to know that Obols will increase. It's a right grind to what I want. One desirable prize is the (1,000 Obols) shipwreck.

  • You may be on to something. The Ancients never thought to put an obul in the butts of the dead. This may be why so many souls escaped out through there. The corpses weren't airtight. It was a time before **** plugs. That's why so many more of us survive medical emergencies today, because as soon as you're under anesthesia.....

You know -you come up with some of the best, but I've read this ten times and laughed myself into hiccups
