Missing Handshakes seems to be back.

I have been experiencing the missing Handshakes glitch for the last few days - that is when a neighbour has tapped your buildings, but there is no handshake, just a $ sign.

It's not consistent - some buildings are still showing the Handshakes.

Anyone else?

(I took a quick look thru the first few pages and did not see it mentioned - if this has been mentioned recently then I apologize for missing it. I also did a search, but the threads I found were a bit old.)

No, not for me- although I did have that problem in the past,mostly
with brown houses and K.E.Ms.

It seems to be more than just those for me.

It's hard to know what to clear and to leave for neighbours when I can't see exactly what has already been tapped.

I only discovered it when I accidentally hit something that appeared to be untapped. That prompted me to clear the whole area I usually leave for neighbours, and I discovered several more.

I'm going to start keeping track of the exact buildings that I'm not getting the handshakes for.

Neighbours - I'm sorry if it looks like there is not much to tap in my town. I just can't determine what has already been tapped by neighbours if I don't clear everything.

Yea, i'm getting it too. Sometimes i'll only get 1 or 2 of the 3 a neighbor will leave. Then I'll come back in later on and the 3rd one shows up. Weird!

I also will go into a neighbors town and there won't be anything to tap, so I go back one town and then back into the town that didn't have anything and it'll show up! Anyway to fix this? I assume not. Always some issue with ea stuff.

Me too, synching with server sometimes helps - for the most part my handshakes only appear when I clear the building and see a name though.

I have had missing handshakes. I also had a couple double handshakes the first day of the update.

I hadn’t really experienced this problem in the past, but yeah, I’ve noticed this recently in my Springfield.

Update: Synching doesn't seem to help for me.

i've been getting handshakes but about 25% of the time the black rectangle with the name disappears really quickly. Don't get a chance to read the neighbors name

Something's off. My town usually has handshakes all over the place when I first login in the morning. Today I had one from @suetopia.

Update: there is no rhyme or reason to the missing OR the visible handshakes. It seems completely random - one time a building will show the handshake over it, the next time the same building has been tapped and is not showing the handshake.

I discovered the randomness because I was trying to create a list of buildings that were and weren't showing the handshakes, so I could post it here, and kept getting discrepancies... so no point in making a list.

The last time I visited @IckabodSchrek was yesterday at around 9pm EST. And I tapped 3 things.

I don't like hearing that it's happening to anyone, but I especially don't like hearing that my neighbours are having problems too.



EDIT: i suppose it could be way worse, tho. This is a rather minor annoyance compared to some of the worse glitches people experience.

Yes I have had this happen too. I was clearing my town, there were 2 handshakes near each other, but when I tapped I saw 3 names (all the same person) come up. I have had a 'double' handshake too. I don't think that synchronising has helped in my town, as I regularly do that anyway.

Yes, I have the same problem. I thought perhaps my neighbors weren't visiting after having so many visit during Halloween event. Glad to know it is a common issue, so it will most likely be fixed at some point. I love visiting my neighbors, and seeing what designs they come up with.
