That you remember something from 2013 shows that the last couple of Winter events haven't been anything special. There's been an awful lot of re-treads & generic-ness with Xmas events of late.
(Apart from the "Babies" Act last year, of course. )

    Oh, I 'member.

  • Still love this event even if some need to attribute their religion to a season :)
Let the thickness of the season reign supreme. (Oh and while "borrowed" by the church, even the cross was originally pagan. I.e. about 1000 years before christianity.
(Found in ancient Mesopotamian temples and buildings and pottery.
Come on folks, this is Yule celebration. Pagans celebrated the rising of the sun on the longest night of the year, when they might have believed the sun wouldn't come back. the suns return and the beginning of shorter nights and longer days was the restoring of life. That's why a child's birth in the spring became celebrated in the winter-We were already having a birth party-
This is Yule!! :) says so all over the towns diologs :p:p
Nothing as loud as the silentmiaow.
  • I don't mind the Pagan thing but, how about some sledding kids? How about some ice skating on Springfield pond. How about a snow ball fight. How about a snowman contest? I wish Peanuts™ would make a Tapped Out.

It's annoying how people are comparing Pagans to Satanist ****.

Stop watching true detective and learn something form outside your culture.

I assume that Mr. Tumnus from Narnia was in fact a Satanist.

It's a historical fact that a lot of the foundations of Christmas are in fact from Pagans (hence the update).

Quite offensive to any Pagans out there TBH.

This is not a christmas event, it is a winter event. to suggest that EA release an event just for a christian holiday is hypocritical to your point.

I am sure there are several christian apps to download if you are looking for a game that is in the christian safe zone and does not contain ideas/beliefs that differ from your own

You know that most people who play this game come from western countries that celebrate christmas and that the Simpsons family celebrated Christmas every year in the show? So why should people leave to search for some "christian apps" when christianity is clearly a part of the show and a tradtion in the game by now.

You mean christian stuff like fir trees, snowmen and reindeer?

I love it. This is already my favorite event.

    Don't try to be interesting.
  • Perhaps some should go to the game "the Flanders"

And there it is. Sorry (not sorry) if you guys specifically wanted another Christmas event, but EA switched it up and did something new. I'd hate to see how some would react if they made this a Hanukkah event (gasp!). If this update offends you, then clearly you don't watch The Simpsons.
  • If it was Hanukkah I think a lot of the complaining wouldn't be happening. People at least understand (sort of) what Hanukkah is. These people have no idea what paganism is, which is why we are seeing the garbage about Satan devil worship.

It's also cool when pagan imagery and symbolism is in other games/TV shows/movies and no one notices.
  • What if there's no 3rd act because they are planning something different for Christmas? Or is that wishful thinking?

I'm atheist and I do like this pagan event but I don't think it's appropriate for the whole of Christmas....Christmas is bright, festive, this doesn't give me that feeling unfortunately.

My hopes are high for the "third act" being the shelbyville act with Jeb, shelbyville manhattan and the junk yard. All the people swearing the game off would be right back for that

I don’t think so. According to the event calendar, this one ends on the 30th — i.e., after Christmas.
