But — to reiterate a point I made earlier — neither of those characteristics take away from the fact that the content of the threads is largely about the game itself.
If the mods have a problem with them, the can fix the problem by locking them or curbing the behavior of the more abusive participants. Instead, they chose to “hide” the problem by disposing of the threads in OT.
I agree with the top part, but the decision to move from game discussion was a practical one so people could discuss parts of the game, more direct parts instead of the "spiritual" side. I'm glad they didn't choose locking or even discouraging.
I think the best rationale is how if you just decided to make a thread on a religious topic it would belong in OT. Same as happened with politics and the election.
