Downloading updates?? What??

Every time the creepy Gnome leaves his box, if I'm not already logged in, my phone "downloads updates". Not small ones, either. Oh no. I'm talking 677MB of updates. It happened 3 times in the last 24 hours alone. That isn't counting the times it did it before I realized there was an issue. My phone isn't losing storage or anything, either. I keep an eye on my available space, and it isn't possible for it to have downloaded *that much* and still have the space it says it has. There is no possible way they made that many ninja updates every 4 fours. After it finally finishes "downloading" and I catch the gnome, I keep restarting my phone but 4 hours later it does it again. I've also noticed that I'll be in the middle of something, tapping completed jobs or collecting money from buildings and suddenly the game closes all by itself. Earlier today, when the game crashed, my custom Harry Potter screen background had reset to a factory one and I had to go into Settings to put it back. Help? I am so confused. I'm running Lollipop (Android 5.0.1) on my phone. Is anyone else having the same problem?

It might be an issue with your device regarding the background issue. As for the downloading issue i suggest having at least 2 gigs of free space on your device

I've had the background since I got the phone this past May. I've never had it happen before. I still have plenty of storage, it says it's downloading but my available space never goes down.

Are you opening tapped out through the notifications?

Have you installed Tapped out on a memory card in your device as doing so can sometimes cause the issue that you are experiencing.

Normally this happens for one of two reasons. Either you don't have enough main memory available or you have a corrupt install.

Try freeing up some space anyways if you can and restart device. If that doesn't work make sure you're logged into the game before reinstalling and make sure the install fully completes.
