Haha, believe me, you wouldn't want to watch any of those movies if it didn't have the intrusiveness. :smirk:

This isn't true at all. They have played a number of films that are worthy watching on their own. Nowadays though people don't know how to do that. They have to talk back to a film, play with their phones, etc. Especially during an older film, snark is expected. They don't know how to relate to a movie that features actors they've never seen before. I guess they get uncomfortable. It's kinda sad.

I cannot recommend Santa Clarita Diet enough. Wife and I started watching it last night at 12:30 am, and binged three episodes. Can't wait until our young one is tucked in for the night so we can continue it. It's best if you go in not knowing anything, like we did, but I'll tell you a few things:

It's a very dark comedy, it stars Timothy Oliphant and Drew Barrymore, and it isn't for kids. You will be shocked and likely disgusted, but you'll be laughing a ton while you are.

    I love Netflix.

We're planning to start that next week on my two days off!!! So excited about it!! Right now we're just researching My Name is Earl!!

I used to love My Name is Earl!

@smohqy I've never heard of Santa Clarita Diet so maybe it's not on the UK version, I'll have to check.
  • @juliet603 it just came out! I'm holding off on watching it now because we're going to Paris in a week; I've downloaded the full season to watch in my downtime on the plane and the like.

Rhi, My Name is Earl is awesome, I'd definitely recommend
  • lol i meant we are re-watching it for the third time...not researching, but yes i love that show!! and when your not quite ready to get into something serious its a great time killer!! love it!!

@smohqy - I just started watching it last night too! I'm also 3 episodes in. Looking forward to seeing where it goes.

My Name is Earl is one of my go to sitcoms. I have watched it at least three times. I added Santa Clarita Diet and plan on watching it after I am done with my rewatching of Lost and Buffy. I also added OA to watch at some point.

  • We've actually found a few series that my husband and I both enjoy, and I like doing a binge watch on a series.

    Stranger things
    My Name is Earl
    Raising Hope
    Lost
    Black Mirror
    Sherlock
    Frontier...Just started this one
  • Love raising hope!! And frontier is pretty good so far as well!!! Feels like we're missing a season though.. . 0_0

Raising Hope is one of my favourites too.
We've only watched four episodes of Frontier, so far, but it's a good series. You're probably ahead of me
  • Just saw the first episode actually... Lol I don't know, the characters seem like we should already know who they are...

I know what you mean, and I am enjoying it more as we watch further episodes. It's a bit slow in parts but going to stick with it and see how it progresses

I like all of these but haven't seen the bottom two. I don't think I'd like Sherlock and I don't know anything about Frontier.
  • What is with all the 'Stranger Things' hype?
I've watched 2 episodes and couldn't get into it, should I continue watching it.

I liked this series, but I’ll be the first to admit that it might not be everyone’s cup of tea. If the first two episodes haven’t at least piqued your interest, I’m not sure it’s worth continuing.

It’s possible the show may appeal more to an older demographic, those who might more fully follow all of the many 80s’ references.

I agree that if you don't like it after two episodes you probably won't. And about the 80's thing too!

Another show I watched on Netflix recently was the new Gilmore Girls episodes. I know it's not everybody's thing but Ive always loved the show and I really hope they make another season :)

I love Gilmore Girls. I hope that they will continue. I felt like there was way so much going on for just four episodes. It would be nice to have more.

I was really worried I wouldn't like the new ones but it was like it'd never been away!
