This is a game, there are no winners or losers. We aren't competing against each other to win some super grand prize of 1000 donuts, yet EA feels it is necessary to change the rules in mid-game to benefit them. How do they benefit from this?

They don't want to make it easy. If you can't keep up or fall behind (like many do here) EA is hoping you will get out the $$$ and buy donuts to complete the event. They are a company after all and in this to make money.
If you don't pick the right destination from the clue you run out of tickets. The timer resets if you leave the game to 20 minutes. I stayed on the 20 minutes and selected the right destination based on the clue. Now the timer did go back to 20 minutes but it does not reset if I leave the game. Hope this helps

If it's like previous events, once you get all of the prizes on pins prize track, you get bonus donuts. Is that the case in this event? In that case, sending 60 people on a flight every 4 hours would get you there very quickly, and yield a bunch of donuts you'd otherwise pay (or grind) for.
I don't really mind the change, I didn't know about this 'exploit' and I'm still quite ahead on the track. My daily task today gave me over 1000 pins on it's own- so no big loss, really. You just have to play as much as any other event.
Cause of a loop hole. Its another 40 minutes just to send all my characters. 20 minutes waiting on a ticket, and then I have to wait those 20 minutes again before I can send people again. This suxs now..
my timers are all over the place? Anybody else? I just checked a town and it was 4 mins, while 20 has been predominant, I see no order to the timing system and I can still get a lot of people on plans just by playing the game.

Its 20 min a ticket now after I sent 1 person. So to send all 5 its going to be another hour now, and then another hour wait after the 4 hours. This event now suxs....
Now my timer keeps resetting to 20 minutes every time I turn off the game, so in 30 minutes. Ive only sent the 1 character. I now hate this event.. Thanks for the airport

yeah I hard you can't log off, you have to keep it running -_- I hope they fix that in the morning, its a pain for anyone who's logging in real quick to send them off on their task

Even if u have the game running in the background, minimized, and u go to something else,if u unminimize it,itll reset ur timer to 20 mins-_-.

I wish they'd acknowledge that they divided the event up into acts. So, take a loss on act 1, leaving it as its own unit, then "fix" the future acts. Just my opinion.
I have 3 games and the ticket reset time is different in all 3 games. I've currently got 4 minutes, 8 minutes, and 10 minutes remaining for my final tickets. So that would be... 12 minutes, 18 minutes, and 20 minutes full waiting time.
Let's see... I don't have Kumiko in the game with the shortest time. The game with the longest time is on my iPad Mini. The game with the median time is Android and so is the shortest, which is also my newest game with the least land.
I just don't know.
edit: Oh, and closing the Airport menu adds a few seconds to the timer each time.
Going to Krustyland didn't change anything.
I also have 3 towns. Each town is having various time settings. My first town (iPad air2) timer will count down the 20 minutes and then freeze at zero without generating a ticket. Grrr!
Town 2 (played on iPhone 6) has the issues of the longer wait times but at least generates tickets.
My 3rd town (which I play on my old Ipad2) is still regenerating tickets every 2 minutes. No complaints with that!
I uninstalled town 1 and it reset the counter back to 20 minutes and still no tickets! Very frustrating to say the least!

don't think it has anything to do with the land token. I have not used mine and it has just changed for me too....
