Irregular flying ticket spawning - anyone who understands it?
For example.
I come home from work, clear everything.
3 tickets awailable and 5 available flyers in line. I send 3 persons flying. Then I send 1 of the 2 remaining on the shortest regular job there is, which generate 5 new flyers in line. Ticket counter is now like 18 minutes or something.
So I visit some friends, or clear buildings. Tap airport - and suddenly I have 1 new ticket! I send 1 of the 5 flying, counter is down to 12 minutes (or whatever).
At T-5 minutes I tap airport again, whoops, another ticket! I send 1 of the 4 remainig flying. At 0 I have a new ticket. I send one of the 3 remaining flying, and 1 of the 2 remaining in line on the shortest regular job there is which generate 5 new flyers in line. And so on....
Why do I sometimes get 3 tickets within 20 minutes? And sometimes 2, or 1 or I have to whait the full 20 to get one?
It it totally random.
While I was writing this, I got a new ticket at T-18 minutes.... So I guess tapping airport often is a good idea? Or what?

The 20 minute timer seems to run over and over in the background no matter what, but other things can intervene before that to load a ticket or two into your counter. I try to resynch a bit more often these days, because i think thats one of the ways to fool it into an early ticket drop. Also when a friend taps your airport and you auto clear it by going there from the button on top of the screen, that may sometimes add one??? Or they just reprogrammed the ticket rate without adjusting the visible timer. Mysteries arent inherently evil though so just enjoy it.
I think the ticket counter on the main game screen is broken - it often shows 0 when I expect to have some tickets, such as straight after loading the game following a 1 hour break; then I tap the airport and see that I really have 3 tickets.
I agree that a countdown timer appears to continue unseen after you have the maximum 3 tickets, or something similar to that. It might be possible to use this in planning when to login for the best time to both use 3 tickets and then collect a 4th very soon afterwards.
However, I've also seen some things that defy obvious explanation, such as having 2 tickets at the airport, exit airport pop-up, tasked a character, then tapped the airport again and now had 3 tickets just moments later and after immediately using one of them the timer was 15 minutes. That 3rd ticket was added far fewer than 5 minutes earlier, so can't be explained by a single timer! Perhaps friend taps on the airport can add tickets, as suggested by ArmpitAttack? I can't easily test that...
On a related note...how many tickets should I be able to have? I'm full at 3 and can't earn any more but my reward for the daily challenge is 6
I don't want to claim my prize in case I lose 3 tickets.
The best way I have found to keep it consistent (the background one not the displayed one) is to never spend that last ticket; otherwise if you do its grind grind grind for the next one.
