Collecting hearts from neighbours

When you tap a valentine in a neighbor's town, you can get either zero or one hearts per valentine, meaning you could get anywhere from zero to three hearts for your three actions (along with the money and xp). The average seems to be about one heart for every three taps (one total heart per neighbor visit)... but I haven't actually counted that carefully. It's definitely a little thrill when you get a three-heart town!

When you're tapping in your own town, you always get a heart for each valentine.

I know for sure that it's not random. There are some buildings that will always give you a heart (at least for me!). I know for sure that Bart's Treehouse and The First Church of Springfield give you one. I'm not sure about where you can get a 3rd one all the time, but if a building gives you a heart it should consistently give you hearts. Also, I know that Willie's Shack and The Simpson's House don't give you hearts, so I suggest that you don't click on those. If I figure out another one I'll be sure to tell you :D

I'm not so sure about this. I read a post in another thread from a player who was positive that Willie's Shack always gives a heart.

My own guess is that there is no pattern associated with particular buildings. Sometimes people may notice that a building gives a heart or doesn't give a heart for several visits in a row, and just don't remember the times before that when the same building did something else.

Simpsons00001 has a thread started today about overall hearts payout when visiting neighbors' Springfields. By his count, chances of getting a heart from tapping a neighbor's building are about 46%... but that didn't include separate stats for individual buildings.

If someone wanted to crunch the numbers on that, it would be interesting, but it would be a lot of work! Seems like you'd want to tap each building 50+ times to get meaningful results.

It is completely random. I always try to tap the same three buildings. In some towns I get three hearts from these buildings, in other towns zero hearts.

I think each town might be pre set as to which buildings give out hearts (different for each town). When I was collecting earlier I got the 20% battery warning from my phone which jumped me back to my town. When I went back to my neighbours the last three towns I visited were 'open' again. I clicked the exact same buildings and got the exact same result as the first time. So the random thing seems to be which buildings you tap. Theory easily tested if you have a pen and paper. If you work out which buildings in each particular town give hearts and which don't you could get all hearts every time (figured out through trial and error).

I think it's supposed to be us putting in valentine in their house. Bart is the tree house, grandpa the nursing home, etc....

Ok, then what about Fat Tony? I actually came to this thread to ask how people are assigning cards to characters when I have tried unsuccessfully. :x

Not really sure, that was just a guess. Not even sure if all characters can get one, my squeaky voiced teen never gets one, I thought it was because he has no 'home'.

You are correct that not all characters get a card. There is a list somewhere that tells what buildings and such get cards. Not sure where though.

When you visit a friends Springfield and tap on a building with a valentine card, the character associated with that building will receive a V-Card. For example When you tap the Krusty Burger, then Krusty will have a V-card above his head.
But only certain characters will receive a V-Card. Fat Tony, Moleman, Squeeky Teenager, Shauna and others who have no building associated with them do not receive V-cards. Some buildings are also limited as they don't have characters associated with them.

Really? I could have swore I remember Fat Tony walking around with a card over his head. I guess I was mistaken.

I think you may be right on that one, as the purple house is associated with him when he digs a problem.
    Sorry my bad.
