You can do that anyway, even if the Origin Servers are up, can't you?

Well I know my Asus TF300 still requires a hack to access the root folder, similar to jailbreaking. I guess there are probably more Android users who do that sort of thing, but probably not significantly more than iOS devices.

Plus the game is still online... the save file is local but you have to be online to play. They probably have a server-side check to audit purchase history and number of doughnuts. I can't help but think that this is what gets a lot of users' accounts reset (though I'm not saying all!).

I googled "Origin Android" and found this blurb:
The Origin app will let you see your friend list and its accompanying news feed, sharing what your digi-friends are doing in Origin, regardless of platform. The EA rep then launched a new version of Need for Speed on iOS directly from Origin; this version uses Origin to push your friends' leaderboard data into the game, a feature EA dubiously claims wasn't possible before Origin. More relevant was the Scrabble demo showing the game being played simultaneously across four platforms, including iPad, iPhone, Android, and Facebook. Because your games are stored "in the cloud" (read: Origin) you can start your game on any platform and continue it on another.
I think it's safe to say that we will be able to access our town seamlessly across iOS and Android devices in the very near future. Clearly this won't be possible until after the valentines event ends, but I doubt it will be much later than that.

Just discovered that there is no righteousness rating on android. Don't know if this will change when its possible to visit neighbors.

Its kind of risky buying donuts when its saved on your device only and I wonder without friends and the access to 300 coins a day (from 100 friends) are the funzo's still 1000, 750, and santa's little helper 1500 coins?

Makes one wonder how there going to alter the updates now for android making them more single player friendly, and if this 'extra' work on EA's end will take away time from our tapped out version on iOS

I have a righteousness rating on my Android game here in the US, version 4.1.2. What version are you playing?

No coins... It's not winter/Christmas. It's just the plain green world with everything up through level 25. The Christmas items (SLC, Funzos, Barney) are available for doughnuts only, just as they are on iOS now that the update has ended. The prices are all the same.

The Mapple Store is needed to get the Escalator to Nowhere and the Popsicle tower. In their info tabs it says the Mypod quest is required to unlock them.

Edit....I've been told the Mypod quest happens earlier than I thought, so Mapple store may not be needed to get them.

There's no Origin access yet with the Android version, so no friends as of now.

Just downloaded the game today, also in the US. Not sure what version ( I'd assume its the same) I'm on a galaxy sIII. Dunno if that makes a difference. But there is only the usual indolence, consumerism, tree hugging, obedience, gluttony, and vanity. No righteousness, which makes sense if no one can vandalize.

Actually just noticed my iOS version has a "socialism" rating, is this new? Never noticed it before but after hitting 5 stars I never check that menu. Socialism also understandably missing from android.
