@Jonalinn How to explain getting buildings located in foreign countries? How about a theory that there were multiple nuclear explosions done by foreign Homer doppelgangers. Maybe they could make that the final event.
Sounds like it could work!
You got a great looking town~168sean... Checked out your town, WOW! ~daved
The only town I've ever deleted for anything other than no longer playing was one that was clearly a hacked game, which went from just having the Simpson's house to all the land and a load of premium items in the space of the week. I've got plenty of neighbours with either cramped towns or huge towns that barely have a road. The cramped towns I understand because we've all been there early in the game when new buildings are expensive and buying land is a last resort. The roadless towns do make me wonder why, but I'd never delete them.
Is it just me, or do you get annoyed when someone adds you and you visit their town and its untidy. When I say untidy, I mean they don't have any road system or any sensible layout to their buildings, its just all crammed together. Even though its still beneficial to have them as friends and visiting them, I find myself more likely to delete them as I don't see the point in them playing, where is the fun for them in what they are doing?
100% agree. Ive been playing all these years for the creativity and design challenge, so I like to be inspired by neighbors. Now, I dont mind if they are the best looking towns - but I like it when they at least try.

Not everyone thinks that a road system is "tidy". Not everyone thinks a regular grid system is beautiful. I grew up in Chicago, with its mostly perfect grid road system. I have lived in suburban housing projects with their complete abhorrence of straight roads. I now live in South Carolina, where getting from here to there entails at least twenty road changes per mile. I personally hate the road system in TSOT. It's too inflexible.
Besides, no one drives anywhere and you can't put cars on the roads anyway .
I have divided my town into zones. Food and beverage, industrial, entertainment, quasi-old west, airport, etc. I happen to like it this way. You may or may not. I don't care. I don't live to please you. I design my Springfield to suit me. If it insults your aesthetics or your personal feelings about design, too bad.
Judge not, lest thou be judged also.
I have similarly created residential and commercial zones, amoung other types, mansion, airport, Western, stonecutters, etc etc.
It takes all types, but my personal preference is for structure not jammed up.
My Springfield is zoned properly too. More effort is needed whenever an event hits though, as more things need to be shifted. I am most happy with my Civic District zone where the government buildings are housed.
When I encounter an untidy town, my first reaction is to summon my local authorities. In my area, this will only work a few times, as some of them won't consider this a real emergency. After that option has been exhausted, I normally contact EA's Helpline and after hours of criticizing them to an EA agent, I'll photograph their town, and post the pics all over the internet, shaming these untidy people into oblivion.
Or
I remember it's just a game and I move on.
I think you take the game a little too seriously imo
This is irony, right here. I think YOU take the game too seriously. Obviously the previous response was sarcastic, teasing you for doing so.
But I'm not criticising your perspective either. If it annoys you to learn a new neighbor is too sloppy for your neighborhood, simply delete them. Or, continue "using them" to enhance your earning potential. Either way, it's your choice.
This is your game, play it how you see fit.
But recognize that others are playing the game as THEY see fit, and don't judge them negatively for it such that it affects YOUR mood. This should be fun. If it isn't make the necessary change so it is.
To answer your question, yes, I've deleted newly accepted requests that are complete messes.
I've also not deleted them, and have many messy neighbors in my 'hood. I don't over think it.
Neither should you. Happy tapping!
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!

at the end of the day, it's just a game... there's no need to get annoyed or bent out of shape over someone else's town. everybody plays this game for different reasons... you may not see the point in what they are doing, but maybe they do, and that's really all that matters. it's not like real life, where you might be stuck next to a lousy neighbor with a dump of a property... if you're not happy with seeing their mess every time you do your neighbor visits, simply unfriend and move on to the next neighbor. why have hard feelings about it?
Well, granted that my Towns are messy right now, however there's reasons for it...
-rather invest more in buildings/characters that actually produces income/XP while just buying up all lands won't produce income/XP..
-gives me a better idea of where I wanna place each building in where I would like it to be, in other word, planning
-I may have quite a few duplicate houses however it's temporary until all my actual building starts giving me decent income. I actually laughed when I came across one neighbor where the whole half of his Squidport is all blue houses.. must have been 150-200 houses. I have maybe about 12 white houses and 15 blue houses.. I plan to do more of white house since it takes less space and produces decent income according to my daily schedules.
Always fun to see other neighbors, whether perfect or messy, I've been inspired by several neighbors, both perfect/messy, in my planning.
Cheers!
Billy

It depends. While I don't understand the point of the game if you're not designing a town, if I can tap on what I need in the game while visiting, I figure that's their business to have a messy town ( it might be beautiful to them ). I'd rather have neighbors who like designing, because I like designing, and it's fun to snoop around neighbor's cool towns.
Make Nightmare Pile like Zombie Sandwich. All kids trick or treat at once.

If I find one of my neighbors towns not to my liking, usually a flaming bag of dog poo on their porch gets my point across. If that doesnt work may I suggest a brick through their window.
I did the rock one when I caught my boyfriend cheating with a friend (15) Did you know that is actually frowned upon??!!!!! I was shocked!
Discussion of cheating is frowned upon. Get a room, you two, then break its Windows.....

@bgwilson76 : you would love my towns. Well, parts of them. I have all my buildings organized by payout time with roads dividing the sections. Everything else just gets crammed wherever.
Taking a litle advantage from the subject of this topic...... I would like to say sorry to my neighbors who visit me during events
I take a loooooooong long time to set the things together with event items. For example, in this secret agents event I just put the buildings in the only free space I had, so my design was horrible.
Only last week I tried to arrange the things in a "nicer" way, and probably I'll only design with my heart and soul after the end of this event.
but I agree with OP in parts, because I don't appreciate the designs of the untidy neighbors, but it compensates when it's a visiting one, at least once in a while.

@rosesgirlnz If you wouldn't mind, money is tight these days. I have to recycle. I even had to get my own dog, my neighbors dog got tired of me following him around with a plastic bag all the time.
I do not accept unsolicited friend requests! PM me and say hi first.
