Untidy Towns

Replies

  • I prefer seeing a nice town, but, as long as they visit me, especially during events like they said they'd do, I keep them. I have several with what I call ploppers, and several that have nice lay outs like I have. I guess for some players, they're fun is just participating playing the game. There's nothing in the TOS rules that say you must keep a tidy town.
  • If I find one of my neighbors towns not to my liking, usually a flaming bag of dog poo on their porch gets my point across. If that doesnt work may I suggest a brick through their window.

Do you want your brick back @daved7637397 ? ;)

@rosesgirlnz If you wouldn't mind, money is tight these days. I have to recycle. I even had to get my own dog, my neighbors dog got tired of me following him around with a plastic bag all the time.

  • My town is untidy but I can't afford to buy the land to extend so instead I've bought a lot of buildings with characters crammed them all together just to earn money but now I'm on level 47 and I'm starting to earn more money to buy the land so at the moment I've stopped buying buildings and starting to create my town to make it really nice, tbh I hate the look of very untidy towns :s

You're a really good neighbor and I've enjoyed seeing your town grow... I don't really care what my neighbors' towns look like as long as they have stuff to tap, though I do spend time perusing the towns I find interesting, organized or not.

Aww thank you lol :) I've not been able to visit my neighbours in the last few days as I've been working then falling asleep on the sofa :D:( but I'm hoping I should get chance tomorrow. This is true as long as they have got buildings to tap on then it don't really matter.

Well, guess that shows what kind of player you both must be then.... I don't see the point really!

While I may have personal preferences about how my own town should be orgainzed, it’s not my job to tell other people how to organize their towns. Frankly, when I see a seemingly disorganized town, while it may not be to my taste, it simply doesn’t bother me. As to what “the point” is, I assume that different people enjoy different aspects of the game.

    What KrustyBrand said.

I have a very tidy and designed town but I don't mind a neighbour with a messy town if it is a nice neighbour.

I agree. Some players focus on aesthetics while others focus on other competitive aspects of the game. Although I enjoy an organized town, parts of my town get messy toward the end of any event because I typically wait to reorganize until after the event ends.

^^ This is also me, except, with the events coming quicker, I used to have plans and have certain areas designed how I envisaged them, but then things cropped up that I needed to fit in them and now I haven't had time to organise, still have destination Springfield stuff to sort out as my airport never even got looked at, it's just the airport piece, Norberts plane next to it and a white plane at the back, rewards centre and tourist place and the globe at the side and a line of taxis across a road...

Not bought much land yet though, so got my three Paris/Japan/Rio districts proper squeezed together as well... and my spy stuff is getting some slight work done to it on a spur of land somewhere whilst the agency building, drone place and Bont's table are all dumped in a corner next to my spooky house farm (although it does give neighbours easy tappables I had moved some spooky houses to the original place I was putting my agency HQ)... the hidden research facility is just dumped somewhere as i never tap it, just access it from the event tabs...

Give me a year, then come back to me, I might have it all sorted then.... or nuked and given up... :joy:
  • If a messy town bugs you, unfriend them. If a messy town is making it difficult to play, unfirend them. I like having nice towns to visit and I've unfriended a few people over the years because their town is crazy messy. I bet I've had a few people unfriend me when I did a major redesign and my town was messy. When I've unfriended due to inactivity, I've been able to get full up on new friends within an hour or two. So it's not like they can't get new friends easily. If they keep getting unfriended, the pu might clean it up.

I know when I first started, my town was a mess as I saved up to get more land, so I get it. But I think a well designed town is much more fun to have and fun to visit. Just my two cents and YMMV.
  • Untidy or messy towns don't bother me, so long as they have something to tap then all good.
  • Like everyone else said if it bothers you, delete them. Theres no shortage of replacements in the many different add me threads.

More importantly then being messy is, does the neighbor make sure there is items to click, do they visit your town?

it not usually no, which is the thing that mainly annoyed me... they are usually so chaotic that its difficult to look around for something being available to click on

I’ve guess I’ve never experienced this problem in the way that you describe. The one exception might be in those towns (either well organized or disorganized) where the user elects to have only a few or no roads. This tactic sometimes makes it difficult to locate mobile characters on which to click (as opposed to static buildings). I don’t think I’ve ever deleted anyone for doing this however.

That's my biggest bugbear. In fact I started an almost identical thread during the Casino Event (when I got shot down as much as you have). If you have to click characters firstly you have to find them. With no roads in a large town it's just too much effort. Unlike you I have deleted neighbours for that. The two main reasons I delete neighbours are not being able to find anything to tap during an event (usually I'll give them until the section has finished before deleting) and my noticing that they never visit during an event (that happens very infrequently). During the current event I deleted 2 neighbors, both of whom hadn't played since the start of the event and replaced them with players from the request friends thread here. Yes it's only a game but I invest my time in it and treat it seriously.
  • I enjoy well designed towns, but don't care if others are playing for other reasons. The only time I recall a "messy" town annoying me was when we had to tap snakes in neighbor towns, and it was nearly impossible to see the snakes when their buildings were stacked tight together with no roads. But, I made it, and so did they. It's all fun.

I am in awe of people that have a fully designed town. I really try but I always get bogged down and my town never gets finished. Things that seem like they should be small changed end up being large changes. I was working on getting Cypress creek designed which caused me to have to move my French quarter. I moved my cemetery area so I could add a few more things but it was too close to my residential area, so I had to move that which moved my casinos. By the time I got all that done, I was exhausted and still have a bunch of buildings that haven't been placed.

I have problems with towns with a lot of roads but majority of them are blocked by buildings. The problem arises in events when you need to tap characters on the road. I couldn't see the characters

Anything that requires you to agree multiple times before it can occur isn't something I want to try.

My youngest went through it once, luckily her town is only like six squares, she had a laugh doing, reading out all the quotes to me as she pressed the button..., then afterwards as she replaced Cletus's farm remembered she was about halfway through growing corn....bless her...

I've nuked krustyland and a small town (level 50, maybe) and neither was worth the effort. The town I abandon, it's still unfinished, somewhere in the interweb thingy, just sitting in eternal limbo.
