My first dog looked very much like Santa's Little Helper and I found her in 1990 and was a big fan of the show, people on the street used to say "hey that looks like SLH!"

So I have been given many Simpsons gifts over the years and have a suitcase full of comic books, some Burger King Halloween toys and of course SLH on a key chain. Also have 2 board games - the Simpsons "Battle of the Sexes" and "Loser Takes it all" given to me by my young nieces. Played once or twice.

Oh and I used to have a chess game with Simpsons characters but lost it in a move.

Dang I was just gonna make a kidrobot thread.... I actually was doing just Futurama but tapped out reawakened my simpsons passion and I've been searching for my favs

Much easier& cheaper to snag em 2nd hand from the hardcore collectors, as these figures use blind box system.... If ur ever on the KidRobot boards, I'm AK4play....

U guys have no idea how much Kang Kodos & Ralph (6 inch figs) $200 min sigh

I started to watch in the early 90's while living in Argentina. I loved the quotes in Spanish but the voices did not sound right for the characters. When I moved to the US and heard the real voices I thought it was much better. My brothers and I saved for a long time to buy an episode guide (in Spanish) and we read that thing cover to cover for months!

I haven't watched in a long time. I've been looking into buying the early seasons to keep. Are they coming up on their 600th episode yet?

I started watching during the first years, way back in 6th grade. I remember there was big controversy at that time with Bart Simpson T-Shirts being prohibited to be worn by some public schools. (above link to the youtube video on this, which btw is an Easter Egg on the Season 1 DVD set)

As with most fans, I think the first years were the best, especially the Conan O'Brien years. Even though I will watch each new episode, I think anything before season 10 are the ones to watch.

That's funny! I remember that too. I recall it being about the phrase "Eat my shorts." I don't think Bart says that much any more.

I've been watching Simpsons since their premiere episode. I think they are one of the reasons my husband and I knew were right for each other - we were dating and we realized we each had Simpsons paraphernalia  I still have my Simpsons chess set and own a few other Simpsons games that my kids now enjoy. Also have some Burger King toys that I collected as well as their puzzles. We also make it a point to purchase and display the annual Simpsons calendar in our house :D

Or cowabunga thank goodness. Funny, my history mirrors yours identically. I even have a couple of figurines. Hit and run was great. I remember the Who Shot Mr Burns event and the big gulp glasses with images on who may have done it and the whole contests surrounding it,

Found this in a search for images of The Pimento Grove. They also have Phineas Butterfats. Odd choices for a Christmas collection don't you think?

I remember my parents banned the simpsons and I'd have to make friends with cable to watch it then CBC started aiding it at 4pm so it was perfect after school but the folks weren't home just yet

I think since season 22 things have gotten much better, pre season 10 good but that's me

The 500th only aired back in February of 2012, 600 shouldn't hit until 2016.

Most definitely old school myself. Loved the early seasons and saw most episodes several times. However, that was a long time ago and I've not watched the show in years. The terrible truth is that if a new episode of the Simpsons came on my television then I'd probably turn over.

And loving your toys Mr Sommon. Have a Simpsons chess set and monopoly board myself. They are gaining dust in the attic back in the UK. Perhaps one day, if our dear mothers will allow it you could come over to my house and we could play. You could maybe even stay for dinner!

    Now there's a collection.

@ Peru - I checked with my mom and she says it's okay. Though it will have to be Monopoly, unless we make chess checkers. I'm lost on that game.
