I bought it, I regret it. Every time you accidently click on one of the "multiple" bunnies, you are immediately moved to the original bunny in the Alien Movie like egg. I'm trying to tap an alien and I hit the bunny, all of a sudden I am across town.
Probably because it's still the 9th in the US, and probably because like most of the timed things it won't open up until midnight EA server time which is usually 9 AM GMT.
I bought him. I still have my Halloween Questline reward of 20 donuts and my Space Mutant Questline reward of 10 donuts to look forward too so technically it's only costing me 45 donuts.
His 12 hour is sweet. He enters this egg thing and then all these white bunnies appear in your town. They just hop around all over. It's pretty cool
I found out that the space mutant 10 donut reward is only for the Krustylu Questline which I don't have... Regardless I like the rabbit even more after seeing his parts in the episode.
So, after the DST adjustment I was sure that midnight EA time was 9am in my country (THOH phases rotated accordingly). Now it's 10.43am but the rabbit is still locked.
Just had a live chat with EA support. The Mutant Rabbit 8 hour task will unlock today - EST time, but they cannot divulge WHEN.

If it's not an automatic trigger like the thoh phases it may be scheduled with one of the usual 6pm GMT ingame updates for tie-ins. An update solely for the quest unlocking could mean that new content is coming for the rabbit questline. Maybe the legal issues for futurama characters was just a ruse to distract us and we will get the big surprise.
I just send my rabbit to yet another 12 hour task. Have to cancel that when the new task is reported to unlock.
I was surprised yesterday that I could not store the rabbit/ pod thingie to reset it. So be careful. You might end up needing to wait (assuming you dont want to spend donut to speed up tasks) Maybe it was just me, but I got the Sorry Can't Store This popup.

(still nothing) I did get 10 donuts from EA for my polite patience while my queries were answered. Just shows it is always worth contacting them when issues like this arise.
Dont be impatient. It will be unlocked. And probably the task can be repeated to unmorph it back
