Selling a Springfield?

Prev13
well technically it violates the terms of agreement so it'd be pretty hard to do this openly in a place where you might be able to.

Uh- in all that EA legal BLAH blah you agreed to for playing the game- it precludes that, it's not allowed

Yeah, I would imagine it wouldn't be possible to advertise that in a forum like this. It would have to be a craigslist kind of thing or something if you were intent on doing it.

While I wouldn't sell my Springfield even if we could do so openly, I'm just wondering. There's little downside to EA. It's like buying a video game and selling it to your friend.

I'd sell mine for $250. $60 of Donuts worth in it, then the hours of leveling up and decorating...

Somebody wanting a sexy Springfield would pay it!

Yeah, definitely a violation. Threads started here for that purpose are removed.

Yeah, I wasn't advertising - just curious if anyone knew if it had been done before. I would have suggested a new category on this forum for a "marketplace" of sorts.. IF it were allowed. But if not due to terms/conditions etc. than it's obviously a non-starter.

Since it's not allowed, if anyone on this thread admitted they'd done it, wouldn't they get in trouble?

Agreed. I really wouldn't want someone else's town, whether it was full premium or not, and I certainly would not pay for it. It's like sex.... if I apply myself....
Never mind, it's nothing like sex.

This though has never crossed my mind, to be honest.
    I could not contemplate this!

Would have to be someone with no other games with their EA account.
Can change email and password associated with the account easily enough.

+1 doesn't it defeat the purpose of the game? and if you're gonna pay real money anyway, why not start a town yourself and buy donuts and get all the premium items yourself while also playing the game?

To me it seems like buying a jigsaw puzzle that's already had all the pieces put together!

Clear violation of TOS and I'm sure they probably keep an eye on ebay looking for any violators

Well, if the town had a bunch of retired items it would make sense, since if you started from scratch, no matter how much you spent, you'd never be able to get those items. It wouldn't be as fun as going through all the quests, and I don't think it would hold as much value, but let's say you already had a freemium town you'd played through, and now you wanted a premium town without starting all over again and with retired items, well I can see why you'd want to buy a completed one. Not that I'd ever consider doing it of course, but I can understand the appeal. I mean, if someone offered me their Premium town for free, I'd have a hard time turning it down. I still wouldn't like it as much as the original town I'd spent a lot of time on though.

I think it's even against the rules to try and give it away, well publicly anyways.

I never got this, I used to play WoW and knew people who paid a lot of money for peoples accounts that were high level or had epic gear. I just don't get why you would pay to get a account that's complete like that, the fun of the game is leveling up to me at least.

    THIS!

For $250, you can buy a TON of donuts, more than $60 worth, and get SO MANY premium items. Plus, to PAY for time spent having FUN? That doesn't make sense, at all.

Now, if you want to pay someone for having fun, I went to Disney World and had a BLAST!! I can sell you my expired tickets reaaaaally cheap!!
