If it makes you feel better, I've done this several times -- wanna know what's really bad....when you speed up the Simpson's House --- I'm guilty!

Worst then the simpsons house is the clean up Springfield task that take like 6 seconds. I've done this twice now.

While the progress bar is going from left to right there is a cancel button next to it. I noticed it last time I accidentally wasted donuts.

Yeah well get used to it, I sped up Homers 6 second task a week ago, 2 donuts wasted and all in all it didn't even go faster since "rushing" takes 6 seconds... Oh well

That's true, however the progress bar is based on the length of the task. If it's a short task the progress bar is usually too fast to stop.

I'm hoping I haven't been jinxed now - I have trash to clean up!

Twice now I've tapped the cancel button 3 times trying to cancel and had it not work.

I think they should make it so that you can't speed up anything less then 1hr. That way if you speed it up and can't stop it, it's no real great loss. Would still suck though.

I wondered about that. But I wasn't curious enough to try to speed up a small task to find out. Seems unfair they should give us at least 10 seconds to cancel it.

I think we all have done this. I accidentally sped up Otto's bus the other day while I was collecting the money...that was 6 wasted donuts. At least at the moment, I was able to make back up those donuts with Christmas stockings :-)

FYI just in case you somehow never noticed it: When you click the hurry button, for about 2 seconds it becomes a "cancel" button. If you click that cancel button before the task bar completes then you won't lose your donuts.

Though I have saved a few donuts by canceling, I also have experienced this exact same thing^^. You have enough time exactly to tap cancel 3 times and freak out when it isn't working.

Glad the those donuts are being replenished by mystery stockings.

Yes, it's a real pain in the backside when it happens.

I wasted 6 donuts speeding up a task one time. Since it was a long task I had a long time to press the cancel key, but it wouldn't work! I kept pressing and there was absolutely no response. That happened to me with shorter tasks too. I think it's another glitch in the system. Fortunately, it seems to be working for me again after one of the small updates we recently received. I really need to slow down my tapping...

I never stopped collecting Santa coins even after I got all the Christmas stuff and I decided to use them all at once yesterday and I accidently tapped on the stupid Santa sack which cost 5 donuts twice. Also during that same run, I wasn't paying attention because I was watching TV and tapped the donut store and then tapped the boatload of donuts for $100. I didn't notice till my device made a weird sound. Good thing I have in-app purchased disabled 8)
