I get the miss tap part but embarrassing? What's embarrassing about the miss tap? Embarrassing to me is some naked video pops up while you are at a meeting and the boss is behind you and looking at your device when it happens.
Legs, Louie, French Waiter... Often I tap Lou simply because he's running so fast.
The really frustrating part is I'm trying to tap a fed and I always get the building next to it. Doesn't matter how far from that building I actually tapped, but the game's accuracy is kinda sucky.
Same here and they usually end up ducking into a building so by the time the money clears and i can see again, hes gone. Happens almost every time.
I have a pretty big Ipad and it's hard for me to tap the feds without tapping other characters/buildings by accident so I can't even imagine how annoying it gets for people trying to do it on their phone. On the other hand the feds have made visiting neighbors so much quicker.
Ive had similar tapping fails with Louie and Legs, even Brockman as he was in a suit!! One that still catches me out is Arnie Pie in neighbour visits. It started during THOH2014 event with the UFOs that you had to shoot, and I thought he was a UFO, even now I automatically keep tapping him like a madman hoping for 30 donuts even though the event finished ages ago. I get really annoyed its not shooting it down until I realize its just Arnie and his helicopter and I feel like a right banana!
But this is nothing new. In the Easter even I kept tapping on my poor little guinea pig instead of the bunnies. In the Halloween event it was the lizards instead of the gremaliens. The only difference between those and the feds is that I don't keep apologising to Louis like I did to the guinea pig each time.
I find aiming for the feds feet helps in avoiding accidental building taps but that all depends on if they are in front of the buildings. When they are behind I just wait for them to move to a more open spot.
I did at first, but a few days ago I realized the Feds walk faster than everyone else. After that I only tap others by mistake when they and a fed are close together.

Not my story to tell. Just things I have heard in the past on other forums about embarrassing moments with your smartphone while in an office meeting.
I put them both on 24 hour "play poker" tasks to get them off the streets.
Furthermore, I have the same issue Abraham Lincoln and send him on his 24 hour "attempt to blend in" task.
Note to self: coffee THEN tapping :-)
