EA, why do you hate commas? 10000000 is really annoying to read.

It could just be that the programming won't recognize commas.

    :-)

Unfortunately, I'm sure the developers have a lot more pressing matters to deal with (e.g. complaints about missing elves, tunnels not opening, etc.), so I doubt this would be anywhere high on their list of things to deal with. That is, assuming it even would make it on to their list of things to address.

I would also settle for substituting the comma-less zeros for words - as in $8M / 8 Mil / 8 Million instead of 8000000. Then again, I'm also happy to take it as it is as long as they are continuing to release new content.

Agreed! My wife almost purchased the Krusty Oil Rig thinking it was $800,000 instead of 8,000,000. Seeing as how she and I could now afford it either way, that would've been a bitter blow to the bank!

Please add the commas or 8 Mil or 8M. Great suggestions, guys!

Ya I have always wondered why there is no comas. I agree they should add this as soon as possible (I understand there is more important things to work on right now)

I doubt that they would add M or Mil or Million simply because then they can code it so people don;t have to use language to understand it. Then again, the dialogue is in english, so perhaps I‘m barking up the wrong tree

I'd like commas or it saying mil as well. It would make it much easier to read.

Maybe a corporation is allotted a certain number of commas, and EA doesn't give them to us because they're afraid they'll run out and their gross profits next year will look like this

2400000000 and they won't know it says $2.4 billion and they'll accidentally buy Yugoslavia and have no money left for decor.

I love this. EA has enough money to buy some Caribbean island and set up shop, Bond villian style. Then they could pay their developers and customer service reps even less!

I do agree it's hard to read

But commas should not be used. Spaces are used instead.

Agreed - I did purchase the Oil Rig thinking it was 800,000. Then I wondered where all my money went. Doh!

I just kinda assumed the oil rig was an aspirational and therefore it was 8 million.

But it would be nice to have commas/spaces/whatever separator they like.

As a programmer (albeit an amateur one) I can tell you that getting commas to display in numbers can be a massive nuisance. Unless the programming language has a subroutine built in to do that, it's a pain. And if you're using the number as an actual number somewhere else in the program it's a DOUBLE pain.

Secondarily, there's the consideration of the allocated space for the numbers. Commas take up space. I've seen some glitches posted in the forum where huge numbers run off the 'page' of the popup.

Or... Some exec may have made the decision not to put commas in. Execs will do that.

But I'm betting it's the second one. Just not enough space.
