I went ahead and filed a ticket with EA today as well. This is the 3rd ticket I have filed with EA in a little over 2 years fo TSTO, so it has been relatively rare. I don't expect any response until tomorrow. But I wanted to have this filed to be sure I did not miss out on the prizes awarded for today. I'm looking forward to finally being able to decorate my Gold Mansion, and I also already have Duffman. Not to mention, I purchased a few "gifts" for myself during the Black Friday sale and have been looking at them in storage ever since. I was waiting to open those up today and play with them, LOL. But I can't, I am locked out, GRRR!!
My family tradition was always that we opened a single gift on Christmas Eve, and then everything else the following morning. So in keeping with tradition, I allowed myself to open one of my TSTO gifts last night. I placed the Springfield Pet Shop that I have had in storage since Black Friday. I love how it looks, had already cleared a space for it a few days ago. But now I want to get all of my other gifts out. Dang it, EA!!!
I have too. Gotten notification that a friend had visited and the someone was done with a task but I still cannot get on. Even with deleting some unused apps and restarting my Iphone. I'm a little miffed.
I can still access my other two games so I don't think it's on my end. With so many people having problems I'm going to say no.
The strangest thing with this glitch is that the same user and get into different towns on the same device, but no some towns. I was going to ask if anyone changed to 3G, from Wifi? I do not have that luxury, and I just remember at the beginning of the event, when that was the issue for an entire weekend. That doesn't seem to be the issue today, but I thought I would still ask anyway.
Guys I know you say you have tried everything. But there was a glitch update yesterday I have told load of folk to do this and it has worked so why don't you try this too. ?
Have you tried removing all the apps you don't use, All the photos you no longer want clearing the cache, Deleting the simpsons app and hard closing your device. Then re installing the simpsons app ? Try that it might help.
This has worked for me and I have been playing ever since so maybe you should give it a go. :thumbup:
I got the update yesterday and it fixed it for yesterday. This morning has brought back the crashing and I am getting an exception error in the iPad logs. Same error as yesterday, different address.

Ditto, except Android. Someone was saying yesterday that it only affected high level towns; presumably there's some high level bit of content that's not properly registered or something and it's freaking out about it being in the town. Or at least that's what I think caused yesterday's crash; but I'm not sure why it would work for a bit yesterday and then stop again; as far as I know there hasn't been a new update since and I didn't build anything new but the cannon.
I hope whoever released the update yesterday is still around.

The best part is I keep getting notifications of neighbors visiting but I still can't get into the game. Almost 24 hours now. Even uninstalled/reinstalled.
I got past whatever was causing the exception. For now.
No new update. It was right at noon here, I had just gotten a notification that Lisa had finished her moral task about the elves, and I was tapping the loading screen with annoyance. I don't know if any of those things made any difference.
my husband and I have level 48 towns and can't get in, my sons town is only level 24 and he can get into his. the only other difference is that my husband and I are using android devices and my son is using his ipod. please fix this soon, we have tried everything and nothing works.
This game can't go a month without a problem. Freezes, locks out, glitches, entire towns disappear... If I did my job this badly I wouldn't still be employed.
COMPLETELY. PATHETIC. Who's in charge of this garbage? Is anybody accountable for their ow sh**ty programming, or is a blanket "We're sorry!" acceptable after every global screw up? Why are updates always rolled out before they're debugged?
Sorry fkm but EA does check this site from time to time to see what the TSTO community has to say, as for help.ea.com been there done that and still no resolution for the problem that's going on.
Sorry maavich211, you maybe mistaken on that. In everything I have read on this site, EA doesn't monitor this site. If they do, as you suggest, it would not be a detailed look on a regular bases. Look at the pages. While users are told in the information about the site to search the pages for a similar thread on the issue, there are TONS of land threads, & already numerous ones about the connection issue from the last couple of days.
In my chat with the new customer service center in Austin, TX (with someone who plays TSTO) he mentioned that help.ea.com was set up specifically to address issues. Over the years they have expanded service to their non-sports games. So I would suggest, as well as the thread that called my attention to a phone call service over Live Chat., to do a phone call. As mentioned, I went to the site from my phone & saw a link about holiday service. If not doing calls today, they will do tomorrow.
I find it hysterical that I when I attempt to sign in to this site on my laptop I get a message "System Error. Please try again later." yet still on the phone.
