This usually doesn't happen very often. I've stated the reason why it's likely happening. Hopefully when the dev team comes back from holiday leave they'll be able to sort the issue out a little better.

This may be helpful to some people having trouble getting on. The past few days I've had occasional outages where I couldn't connect. If I was on my home wifi I could turn off wifi and connect over the cel connection without problem. Then once I was on for a few minutes I'd turn on my wifi again and I'd still be connected fine. I think different methods of connecting may end up hitting different servers and if one is down the other may be up. Anyway, it has worked for me more times than not.

This was specifically a Christmas hack. They attacked a bunch of sites, most notably PSN, and Xbox Live. There's a link I posted to the article, if you'd like to read it.
I would like to read it, and thanks. I didn't see the link when I read it before, but I could have just been in a hurry.

This is ridiculous. What is wrong with people that they want to do all this? Credit card info is obviously for money, but the rest of it is like the big deal in the world right now, bullying. They do it just to screw with people, and that bothers me. Why does some 10 year old kid have to suffer because he wants to play his PS4 online with his friends? He didn't do anything to these people assembling the DDOS attacks.

Sorry. Rant mode is now off. :)

Cause some 30-something year old didn't get what he wanted from Santa...just my guess...some people never outgrow tantrums, they just change how they throw them.

Is anyone else having luck getting around the attack by using another device? It's constantly hitting my Android phone's game while leaving my iPod game alone...

I'm having the same issue but instead my iPad doesn't commect, but my android phone does. Today was actually pretty good so far. But usually my phone ends up saving me.

Based on what I read today, it seems like a security firm got the identities of 6 hackers who were doing massive attacks on Sony. One of them was a former employee of Sony. Apparently the lady wasn't too happy about being laid off. It's wasn't the same group as the one that attacked EA (or at least I don't think it is.) All I know is they're being branded as cyber terrorists.

That made me laugh pretty hard!:lol::lol:

Though a DDOS attack isn't anything sophisticated. Even well versed 15 year old can pull it off, especially if they have access to a bonnet. I guess for those lazier 30 year olds who know a thing or two about networking would do something like this too. Though it's a bit of an amateurish way of taking down a network.

Lesson learned. Companies are now going to have to out do attackers in bandwidth. oh how fun!

Now that made me laugh. I know what you meant AJ, but still imagining a 15 year old wearing a bonnet hacking websites made me crack up. Gotta love autocorrect.

I figured it was a tech-speak term. What was "bonnet" supposed to say?

Lmao! It was meant to be botnet, though that's a funny image as well haha.

Funny thing is as I was typing this it autocorrected Botnet 3 times before it stayed.
