Not being able to log in for nearly 24 hours, how many cogs, bells and dollar have we missed AND I had to spend a donut to retain my daily log in bonus
I don't know if it was just a coincidence but I got yesterdays and today's daily bonus at the same time.

24 hours? I was only out for maybe 6 or 7.
And you didn't HAVE to spend a donut to retain your bonus.

You had to spend A donut.......... O.M.G!!!
Seriously I'd hate to see what you guys would do if the game's plug was just pulled.
EA doesn't NEED to reimburse players because of server issues or glitches. They CAN decide to do so and it would perhaps be a nice gesture, but there is no entitlement to reimbursement at play here.
If you buy a flight from X to Y and the flight is delayed by 6 hours, you don't get any reimbursement because what you paid for was to travel from X to Y and the airline provided that service. If you pay to see a movie and you find the movie to be terrible and a waste of the money you spent, good luck getting any reimbursement there. If you aren't satisfied with a game that costs exactly $0.00 to play...well, then you definitely aren't entitled to anything!
Well I had no problems logging in personally but the thing is there is no telling the amount of stuff you could or could of not gotten. If I were EA I would just extend the event by a day or two that way you get the extra day you missed. Also you could consider the 10 doughnuts we got on new years as reimbursement.
So a couple weeks ago my car was making funny noises. I took it to the shop and they found the problem and said it was all fixed. I drove away and there was a horrible high squealing noise when I accelerated. So I took it back the next day and complained that something hadn't been fixed properly. Was it "entitled" of me to do so?

This might be more of a philosophical view on this issue, but technically speaking the airline should pay you for the time THEY stole from their costumers. The delay may not have been their fault, but it was under their jurisdiction that you lost your valuable time. It's pretty easy to see how that can fit into this game. If a person is a costumer, especially a paying one, he's entitled to at least have the bare minimum of that service working, ie; accessing the game at any time.
This is why I think having a game connected to the Internet in order to play is a very stupid idea. Ideally they should reimburse players with currency that they've lost. Donut reimbursements may be pushing it, but a time extension at the very least is due.
At the end of the day neither the company nor the player can be blamed for what happened, but any good business man knows that keeping customers happy is key to success. In this instance it wouldn't take much for EA to at least extend this event by a week in order to keep the peace.

I don't know, but I like your new avatar. It doesn't freak me out, not that you are 'entitled' to do that, it just happens.

Not at all! If you pay for something, you deserve to get what you paid for. Simple.

So, the end of the story is that my car was perfectly fine. There was a small amount of fluid on one of the belts, making it squeal, but there was no risk of a malfunction.
The mechanic told me they had replaced the squeaky belt, free of charge, before I even asked whether the noise might go away on its own. I was thrilled. I don't think that's "entitled," either.
GET OVER IT FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!
This game did not come with a lifetime warranty or any other warranty for that matter. Comparing inconveniences you have run across in your life is no way to address this. There are way too many things that go on behind closed doors that you simple minded people don't understand or even care to try to understand. I understand you get upset but damn I get upset over R/L things like stepping in a pile of fresh dog poo then tracking it into my car or in my house! But I don't try to hunt the owner down and demand a new pair of kicks because of it. I brush my shoulders off and continue with my life, basically what all of you should do. Instead of crying over spilled milk, pour another glass. Life is full of inconveniences get used to it. EA owes you nothing. In fact you should write them a letter thanking them for all the hard work and effort they put into keeping your simple minds happy. You have enjoyed this game thus far, so why get upset over a few weeks of downtime throughout the year. Anybody agree?
It was also a holiday- people worked on a holiday. Keep that in mind. I'm surprised it even came back , I would have understood if they said "we'll fix it tomorrow, today we're with our families".
Where to start.............................
We all need to realize or remember that all great things come to a end at some point, so anyone throwing money wether it's dollars or thousands of dollars, prepare yourself. Here is a suggestion. Go to a strip club and throw down some $. That gut wrenching feeling you get when you leave and realize how much you spent on something you can't touch but only see, well that my friend is the enevidivle feeling you will get one day when TSTO closes it's doors. I have a true testimony to this exact scenario that played out when I first learned about TSO (The Sims Online) I spent a few dollars here and there, played for about 6mo. Made allot of friends and one day I went to login and a message popped up telling me that it was shut down. I can't begin to tell you how furious I was, lost my friends I talked to every day, didn't even get a chance to get numbers for most of them to keep in contact, so keep this in the back of your mind people. Don't take a second for granted. If you have Friends on this game that you don't have contact info on think about getting it and putting it up. Because chances are once they decide to throw the switch for good its lights out. Oh and as for this entitlement to freebies, why don't you try to run something around the clock 24/7 for years and see how often or how many times you have to fix or repair it. Keep in mind that this game and the majority of its content is FREE! If you are that addicted then maybe it's time for you to seek a addiction treatment center just sayin.

Anyone arguing this is simply a troll.

I honestly think this is the best thing i've ever read on this forum.
I get the feeling the thread is more likely a result of frustration, not entitlement.
