Server issues just aren't a reason to quit. Technology fails. It is what it is. You play until it isn't fun anymore. Like anything else, there will always be attrition of older players that are replaced by new ones. So a fond farewell to those departing and a friendly hello to the new players lurking on the forum. Welcome to the community.
Hey all. Here seems as good a place as any to post.
I'm going to be taking an indefinitely long break from tsto and by default the forum. It's been just over two great years but Im not really enjoying it anymore and the last few levels and events haven't changed that view.
Anyway. Hope everyone is well and I wish you all the best for the new year.
I've only been playing since July...not going anywhere soon.
The way I see it, for me this game is a time filler. I pull it out when I'm having lunch, when I'm at the dentist in the waiting room, when I'm at the pediatrician's office with my kids, when the insomnia kicks in...pretty much anytime I can't get anything else accomplished for 15-30 minutes or so which happens a lot during the course of my day. I don't have a dedicated playing time so if I try to get on and can't, I just shrug my shoulders and fiddle around with something else on my phone. I've got plenty of other hobbies (hand embroidery, sewing, knitting, etc.) that compete for my attention as well.
I've spent enough money on donuts to be enjoyable but not so much that I feel like I've been robbed. The way I use it, I can't see getting sick of it anytime soon and the outages (other than Christmas day when there were definite limited time items to get and it was out for almost the whole day) really haven't been long enough to make an impact on me.
There have been brief outages every day since Christmas but it hasn't been devastating for me. I just wait til later. It's got to be fixed sometime, and since I'm not there to see what the problem is, I don't fuss about it. Let the people making the sausage, make the sausage.
I'm still playing. I won't give up playing. I accept the problems are not ALL EA's fault and just roll with it. :-)
+1
I enjoy this game too much to quit playing. Sure the game isn't always what I want it to be, but at the end of the day it doesn't take away from the entertainment. I hope this game lasts another 3 solid years, or more!
I agree with Brevis45 and AJtheboss1 - I'm still playing and finding enjoyment in the game. It has its moments of "aaagh!" but otherwise is fun.
I started as Freemium, gradually moved to buying donuts on occasion. How much have I actually spent? No idea, but that's not what matters to me. It's a game, for goodness sake. Folks spend huge dollars on sports tickets and have nothing to show for it - pretty much the same thing to me.
So, despite the random frustrations, neighbors dropping out and events that run a bit long, I'm still tapping away and having fun doing it.
been on since Halloween 2012. Have no desire to drop out yet. I have been lucky that I can almost always log in and I have not had the issues that it seems many of you have had to deal with. The only thing that drives me nuts is that I cannot play on my 3g anymore and must be on wireless to play. But overall I am still a daily player who does not take the game too seriously.
Now discuss fallout new vegas or skyrim I tend to get a little more serious.
I got caught on a technicality so my last thread was moved. I & many of you are probably curious how many people are quitting due to the most recent events EA has unleashed on us. I once heard someone say " If a tree fell in the woods but nobody was around to hear it does it really make a sound?" This crossed my mind when I thought to myself " If there are no Players left to play TSTO does the game exist?" So the sole purpose of this thread is to see if TSTO is falling, and if so will anybody stick around to care? Please post your name and a brief comment to show that you are active also to show those that are considering quiting that there are a number of reasons to stick it out (more names more reasons) while we can't help what EA does we can try to stick it out together without giving up. In the event this thread gets moved and you still feel the need to post chances are it will be under Off Topic.
Whilst a tree is a tangible object which exists independently of people, TSTO by definition wouldn't exist without active players. Have to admit am a lurker on the forum but an active UK player since the first Valentine's event. I enjoy the game and reading people's comments on here but life would still continue happily (and more productively) if it wasn't around. Nevertheless, will most likely continue playing 'til the end and happy to accept a few more active neighbours ;-)
I play but not as aggressively as before. Just a little bored with the elves. So I try to clear thumbs every other day to help my neighbors out. I play more on weekends just do to free time.
Honestly having more fun in the forums than the game itself lately.
I've been freemium since I started. I wouldn't have gotten as far as I am if it wasn't for some longtime players who some of might be leaving the game. Thank you all. I've been checking out this forum since before I registered my account. I play every day, at least once. I have gotten aggravated with the game performance, but I've had fun. I'll probably play until it's over. My problems haven't been as .bad as most I've heard. May the New Year bring good things to you all.

Take care, mpwarner. You will be missed.
I just read a book this week. It's this rectangular shaped thing with paper and words inside. Pretty cool!
Edit- saw your post in your goodbye thread
Difficult to break the habit of lurking here. I expect it will lessen as I won't know what people are talking about in the game as new updates arrive.

And that bacon pic makes me hungry, and I JUST ate!
Too bad the poster of it won't be around.

So my interest in the game won't last long.
