So is there a point to all these dumb tasks?

Prev1
I think the game generates them when it thinks you have nothing to do. I leave one hanging in my task bar (currently a 45 second task for Lisa). By letting it hang, no more random tasks are generated.

Are you finished with all the regular questlines? Because if so, that's what happens. It's just a way for the game to keep something on your task book. If you don't want to do them, don't. They will just stay in your task book until such time as you feel you'd like to complete them.

I've got one for Homer to watch monkey trauma center. The most-used character locked up all day in a house that can't be stored? Never gonna do it.

I've been getting more of those too. I just wait until I can fit them in at a time when they won't get in the way. :-)

I just do the random tasks whenever I can, barring special circumstances. I see no problem in doing a task when the character concerned is free.
@neurohart: And if there was any a time for Homer to do a 24 hour task it would be now. Small chance for any new event to start this weekend.

I'm still getting random tasks every day (just got a 24 hour one for Milhouse). Not sure why it would stop for anybody.

every time I start a crop of corn, it tells me it wants me to harvest tomacco... so I don't get a lot of Random Tasks (and besides, who throws a show? honestly...)

At least we don't have to send grandpa to tell stores 50 times in a row!

Nooo!! That's very dangerous! That is the worst one to leave pending!

It keeps that task as a priority on his task list. It's too easy to accidentally start it, which you then have to wait it out!

I recommend to choose a different, secondary character, or a shorter job. I have Grandpa pending his 10 min task. Been pending for many months and prevents further random tasks.
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!

Not when he's always in his stonecutter robes :)

(It's been sitting there for literally a year. I think I'll be fine.)

I should have known you have it covered.

But you keep him in SC garb? I keep him in Mr Plow because it pays more. ( I still need lots of $ for aspirationals) unless Matt G is chasing him which is just hilarious.

My affection for the stonecutter tasks trumps my desire to have premium skins on everyone possible. I did have him as Mr Plow until the stonecutter event, but have generally had him singing or wearing the stone of triumph since, unless he's required for something else. (It's also incredibly easy to cancel those tasks, especially the stone of triumph, which makes me like them even more.)

Oh I haven't chained him to the stone in a while. That IS a good one.

I alternate between tasking for maximum revenue, or just picking what I like to see them do. Lately I'm back to chasing cash, because...
... I finally bit the bullet and bought the Sit n Rotate so my account just took a huge hit. ( I'm happy with the purchase though. I had an outparcel at the mall earmarked for it, and I just built a new strip mall adjacent to it with GoldNavy as the anchor tenant.)

I'm on level 36 and just started building the Krabappel appartments last night.

Because of the high cost of the writers building I only started the job of Groening trying to erase Home last night.

I'm not a house farm fan either.

There hasn't been one day in the past year in which you've felt comfortable sending Homer on a 24-hour task?
