Are you sure he just started? When I see any that with any of my neighbors, I fear the worst for them. It might mean their town has been reset to level 1. I feel sad for them instantly. :(

Be careful if it's only 1 day. The game's feed resets at midnight California time. It could look as though a player hasn't played in a day even if she logged on and played until 2 a.m. if you check after the reset. I have 2 Springfields and saw that I hadn't played in a day when I looked at my alternate town's friend feed at 11 a.m. EST, but I had played until about 2:00 that same day. I wish they would reset the time to visit friends that way instead of adhering to that 24-hour clock!

I've actually only seen one abandoned town which I refuse to delete unless I know for sure it causes instability to my game. The End.

How can you know if a person hasn't played for a day or even a week?

Check the Origin friend listing under "My Friends." It tells you the last time your neighbors have played the game.

Look at your friend list. It'll tell you the last time they were active.

I looked at my friends' list and saw the time they last logged in,

But since this is an origin list, they could be playing other games, and not tapped out...

I say this because one of my neighbors hasn't changed anything for months,

but it says that he logged in at Origin yesterday....

    Good to know.

    Anyways.

They don't change things? Maybe they're happy with their town? Maybe they don't have time for a redesign? If their crops are wilting then that is a sign of abandonment but no change? Not so much.

Got to remember that some people couldn't access their games for over a week and also that its not always possible to get access to wifi when on holiday (and even though it was for me, I chose not to use it every day. Holiday is holiday)

Didn't mean 1 day litarerly, 1 week no play = delete I think that's fair.

Yep that's what happened to me. Twice.

Second time they actually restored the game and gave me 400 donuts though, so swings and roundabouts!

    Thank you! :)
I especially like your Venice (canals) neighborhood and the checkerboard shopping mall.

A lot of the time it is when people have had there cities reset. It happened to me. I was highest level and had all land unlocked, reset to level 1. I couldn't play for a full month, EA did nothing to help. I only got my level 25 city back yesterday with the new download. So sometimes their cities are abandoned because they were kicked out, like me.

Something I dont understand. If a friend does not play allot how does it affect your playing. You can still collect from them. I have a few friends like this. If I have done the bonus multiplier they are good for the same large cash payout like the active players and when I don't do it they are still good for quick cash. I have heard people say that these abandoned towns will crash your game but they dont crash mine.

People speculate that if a neighbor does not log in to the game periodically, their Springfields won't have the latest updates, so any bugs that were fixed in your town will not have been fixed in theirs.
