Looking for work since my wife and I moved to Philadelphia. Not a lot of opportunities in the journalism business here right now. Before, I was a copy editor at a newspaper in Arkansas and before that ran the copy desk at a newspaper in New York. My wife is a physical therapist at Children's Hospital.
Career break. I quit my job to find myself. I was drowning in my job and lost myself. Plus my boss was a pain in the ****. So far, I've been traveling. The places I've been to so far are New York, D.C, Boston, LA, San Francisco, Sydney, Melbourne, ****, Bali, Gold Coast and in a few days time I'm leaving for Bangkok.
Come March, it's time to get back into the job market.
I went back to college last summer as a 40 year old undergrad. I never finished a degree 20 years ago, so when I lost my job I looked at it as an opportunity to go back.

It's funny how we all go to exotic places to try and find ourselves (in the past, I have done the same myself). You never hear anyone say "and there I was tidying behind the back of my sofa and you'd never guess what I found? Me. I have no idea how long I'd been down there but I was a bit on the dusty side and I had an old half-eaten candy stuck to the side of my head"

Did you do all the themeparks while you were in Gold Coast? I live about a 2-2.5 hour flight north of GC, and that's where my friends and I usually go on holidays. GC and Brisbane just north.

2012 was pretty sweet. I've been a couple of times already. It's been years since I went to the themeparks but they are a whole lot of fun. Especially dreamworld. This time around, we only managed Universal Studios because of the wee one. I went with extended family so I had my 2 year old niece with us and she wasn't very cooperative. :?
It was my first time in 6 flags magic mountain in California though. OMG! It was a blast!! SO FUN! X2 was the best ride I've ever taken apart from bungee jumping in NZ.

Well I technically work for a timeshare exchange company; however, we contract with other timeshare clubs and I work for one of them. I make owner reservations, their own exchanges, financial services, other benifits, and overall customer service. It's a call center job but it pays fairly well. It's hourly plus commission
I'm a professional Sasquatch hunter. Sure, I have some bad days in which I don't turn much profit, but others, well, I just make the footprints myself.

I can't believe how many different types of jobs/careers there are that people here have.
Did anyone think that was what they'd end up doing when they were teenagers? Like I wanted to be a prep-year 1 primary school teacher, before I got to high school and realised how much I wouldn't enjoy it.
I was an ichthyology major for a while, wanting to study great white sharks. Heck, I managed a cumulative 4.0 on my first degree. My mom even noted in my baby book that I started dreaming about sharks at the age of two or three. I had to give it up. Life happens.
