Visiting friends is basically pointless now.

You get the same amount of Pies as you did Carbon Rods in the first part of the event, even though you get more Pies than Carbon Rods when you tap a robber/whatever-they're-called in your town.

Needs an update.

You still get Pies from neighbors and you still need pies to unlock the Phase 2 items. So I'm not seeing how that's pointless.

This update ia all about the REVISIT

You visit (1) to get revisit (4)

Each event is different on the "neighbors"

The trick now is to visit to GET revisit, like on **** it was all about visit randoms.

Just a other gameplay, I like the diff. each time. If it would be always the same system it would be boring.

+1 And your neighbours get 4pies per tapped building if cleared fast enough. Therefore, if you visit and your neighbours return the favor it helps a lot! If I have a 100 neighbors (which most of us have) tapping their building gives me 300 pies and if they return the favor and tap 3 buildings it gives me 1200 pies if cleared fast enough. Not exactly pointless to me! (3buildings x4 pies= 12pies, 12 pies x100 neighbours = 1200 pies) .

If you finish the first phase with time to spare, it means that the average rate of visit (or revisit) from your neigbours is sufficient, well at least it is for me, since I am not looking for donuts on top of the event prizes.

Agreed that it's about getting your neighbors to visit you in return. Plus, while the criminals may stop giving out event currency, you can win the occasional donut, so there's that. Which is nice.

I honestly don't understand how friends visits are useless ... unless you don't want to get event currency.

This revisit thing is something I'll have to look into!

Okay well, it's not POINTLESS, you still get pies. I don't think it needs to be updated at all, considering you only need 3929 pies a day, you should be able to finish quite easily. Plus you still get cash, XP, FP or a chance at donuts. So no, friend visits are not "basically pointless" now.

Nothing is ever pointless when there's a chance at free pink sugared bagels!

You need to visit neighbors after you earn The Collector to earn telephones to craft items...you can't craft the Zenith City phone booths, storefronts, or apartments without them.

So while they are "pointless" in regards to the pie bombs they are invaluable for you overall. That plus the donuts you normally receive...

Visiting neighbors is NEVER pointless...there's always something to be gained. 300 pies just from the buildings. Plus however many you get from the criminals. Plus the occasional donut.

Not pointless by a long shot!
