It's probably just a quirk in that your iPhone browser didn't download the Reply image. Try clearing the browser's cache (Sorry, I don't know how to do that on an iPhone) and that will likely help you out.

i have this bug too, i used to not have it and now i have it i thught in the past its only peaple who are new had the bug. its probaly something to do with "permissions" like the friend threads require a higher "permission" (given at default) but can be taken away for any reason, such as "admins" and "mods" on fourms lots times have acess to stuff only for them ( i know this becuase ive been an "admin" on fourms before)

The finding friends forum does not require moderator or admin status. It's just bugged.
