Not really very close to getting the farmers market, and now with the the new items being added to the crafting list I've decided to scrap saving for the market and go for the Gas n Grub which will be better in my town and maybe the welcome Bob sign if I can.

Does anyone remember the quest reward for building the market? I might just skip it. I upgraded twice and stopped at kooks getting fertilizer, since I figured I needed corn more. Do the upgrades make it that worth it?

I was pretty close, but then leveled up to 17; and after seeing the Farmers Market in a neighbors town, decide over a week ago I didn't want the thing anyway. Too big for what it is, and takes up way too much valuable land. As it is, all the stupid Monserno buildings that are being made are just decorations, and as I build them they go right into storage. So far... This event is a HUGE waste of time, as none of the buildings/decos are worth crafting imho. When the hell are we going to get more characters? All this crafting seems pointless. Haven't seen a new Terwilliger since that Gino kid.

50 donuts away. I know I should upgrade but the market and the gas and grub are the only two things that interest me right now.

I was about 2k away, then spent most of it on upgrades. I'm at level 15 and just shy of 16.

I am far, far away now. I was dumb and thought the new prizes added would mean they would be taking away the farmer's market, so I crafted the smokehouse. So now I'm right back at square one. Ah well.

am I understanding correctly that it's pointless for freemium players to even try?

I'm going for the restaurant instead. Forget this stupid thing. It looks big and doesn't generate much money or XP anyway

I was close and then blew it upgrades up to level 15. I just now found it you can upgrade indefinitely. When should I stop?

adammeadeisd, you did the right thing.

It took me the first 2 weeks to get almost to 14,000 fertilizer, then i spent it all on upgrades when phase 2 hit on 4/27. Thanks to the upgrades, I'm now back up to 4500 fertilizer on 4/30, and i still have the whole day left. Upgrades drastically ramp up your ability to re-earn your lost fertilizer. I recommend upgrading to level 17 at least, it is absolutely worth it.

    havocmike,

Brabsel is right. I am not 100% freemium, but I only spend my donuts on new items, not speed ups, ever. I am well on my way back to crafting the Farmers market. it requires the player to be keeping characters on task, ALL THE TIME, but it is absolutely 100% doable for freemium players.

One bit of advice, sometimes the characters overlap different groups, and therefore have multiple tasks that earn event currency. The lower time tasks pay out more than the higher ones. I don't remember exact amounts off the top of my head but it would be something like this:

    1 hr = 7 Fertilizer
    2 hr = 12 Fertilizer

So if you can put your users on the lowest tasks, and keep collecting and starting them over promptly, you'll get a better payout in the long haul. The However, if you are going to be away from the game for stretches of time, certainly use the higher timed tasks. If you're going to be away for 4 hours, then put your person on the two hour task, rather than the 1 hour task.
