I wonder if this problem is somehow tied to how many times we've used the task? It seemed to hit the really short ones first, which probably means the ones we've used most often. I don't know why it would do this, but frequency of task setting is the only thing I'd bet we all have in common.

I think it's connected to amount of times you upgraded the Monsarno building.
Cause I updated my building and directly afterwards the tasks was not highlighted.
I don't think so. I hadn't upgraded Monsarno for days when mine glitched out, and it was in the middle of assigning tasks that it happened, which is why I thought it might be how many times that task had been assigned.

Anyone else had it glitch right after upgrading?

It probably was coincidence for my part. Cause no upgrade for me and suddenly the 4 hour task is not highlighted

It's three broken tasks for me now. All fertilizer, 1, 2 and 4 hours. Hope they fix it soon.

I also get the feeling it has to do with the amount of times you did a task. Next one to disappear will probably be 8h fertilizer or the 3h DNA.

No, but I've had it glitch after UPDATING. It was fine until this morning, when I got the game update. Thanks, EA!

That would explain why my A town is glitching but not my B town.

Is there anyone who plays a lot who hasn't glitched?

It's like they're trying to get us to send people on corn tasks!

I'm really annoyed they didn't fix this in the update. They'll fix glitches we like ASAP, but actual annoying problems aren't a concern for them because it doesn't lose them money. which makes sense, but sucks.

I can unfortunately now add my name to the list of people with this glitch. It's the "Don't care about the future" job that isn't highlighted for me. According to the support I just talked to on live chat the game "expert" says this is a job which is being removed. I must admit I don't have high hopes on the support staff having reasonable knowledge of the game but when the "experts" they confer with also appear clueless it makes you wonder what EA think the phrase "customer support" actually means?

I'm wondering if it might have something to do with a premium character that has the task. Only reason for that thought is because my main town where I have almost every character has the glitch while my second and third towns that are totally free have yet to experience the glitch.

I doubt it has to do with the premium characters, but what you described would fit with the assumption that it has to do with how often the task was done.

Most people did the 2h task most in the beginning and the 1h task when it was released. Those were also the tasks which first disappeared for most people. Next in line is the 4h task which was again the task that was mostly done.

I think this is actually something intended, but not for this event. Some people deliberately don't finish a task so that they can do a part of that quest again and again, like sending almost all people to a specific task so that they have it easier to earn money with the characters. To make sure this is not exploited too much they could implement that the task won't be highlighted anymore after it has been completed a certain amount of times.

Of course this is all speculation but in my head it makes sense.

My 4-hour task just got the glitch now too. :?

They really need to fix this. Even if it was intended in general, when the event itself requires constant repetition of tasks, it's horrible in practice.

I don't think this is the case. I had both the 1 hour glitch and the 2 hour glitch for a couple days, and all of a sudden my 1 hour task is highlighted again. The 2 hour task is still not highlighted. I think it's a deeper bug that just some kind of counter or timer.

Are you certain the highlight isn't coming from a "red crate" task? Because a sudden restoration of the highlight has pretty much always been that, so far as I've seen.

As far as I can tell the task will highlight again if there is a crate active for the task and goes back to the bug state when the crate ends. I'm fairly certain the bug state is directly related to the number of times the task was performed. It is the only explanation that makes sense as to why the more time that passes the more that are inflicted by it. I share no other common element with the reports I have seen than that.

Something somebody else said in another thread made my brain go Click:

When we get highlighted tasks that repeat they're usually set for a number of iterations: like in level 52 when we have to send parents to eat school lunches 10 times... It doesn't matter how many different characters we send on that task - you can send one parent ten times or ten parents one time - once the max is reached it's no longer highlighted.

So... Maybe the programmers gave these tasks a set number of iterations and we've exceeded that number.

Not a solution, but at least an answer to what's going on...

Exactly what I wrote a few posts higher. I would guess this is the answer and hope they can fix it soon.

Just got hit with the "work the land"-glitch in one of my two towns. I'm thrilled... 2h and higher still working fine.

Just got the glitch on "Work the Land" myself. Actually panicked because at first I thought it was gone. Started in on the event several days late and just about to finally reach both Farmers Market and Gas n Grub and have been logging in hourly almost around the clock the last few days. Like I'm disabled and haven't been feeling well so my sleep is super screwy so I'm not even taking like an eight hour break or whatever like most people when they sleep. What's super super weird is that I've been dropping in almost every half hour tonight because my times are screwy on when the tasks end and only now at almost six am did I get the glitch.

If it means anything for me it happened when after logging in,clicking on all my work the land characters who had just finished and then finishing one of the tasks or otherwise getting some gas masks I got the donut bonus pop up for the 3000 gas masks. But I got the bonus the first time about 24 hours ago with no issues.bizarre that this started for some before the update yet has only started hitting more people since. Ugh. I'm glad I didn't lose the tasks entirely but need to click very carefully.

Also if it means anything I haven't upgraded my Monsarno or the herbicide in four or five days at least. So definitely doesn't appear to be related to that. Strange though that the donut bonus pop up did it. I swear I clicked one beforehand and it was there and highlighted but that pop up interfered. Anyone else having any pop ups (donut bonus, level up, all Bob clones squashed, etc) before their glitch?

The glitch updated my Money Mountain before it was fixed several levels without me trying to exploit it, pretty cool :)

How peculiar. I never had this glitch with tasks not being highlighted until now. It just happened to the 1hr Work the Land task. :?
