@Raven: And how is this different from any other positive glitch, assuming that is what it was? There have been many in the game's past. The lack of any repercussion for any of them is implicit endorsement. So is the lack of any communication from EA to the contrary.

I don't have envy of those who got all their SQP tiles through that glitch. Or tons of money on the farm glitch. etc. I've had my turn several times now. Maybe we should call them Easter Eggs. :) We don't know that they aren't even when they get taken away. "limited time" Easter Egg?

    This!

This glitch was the first one I every used. Most others I missed or ignored. I've spent real money on this game as have others. It was good fortune for those of us who were lucky enough to learn about it.

Also that is a good point about it possibly being an Easter Egg.

I just learned about Endless Bobs yesterda and could only exploit for about an hour,, but it got me close to my goal of crafting one of everything. The 40ish donuts I got are a nice bonus too.

Oh yes I wanted to ask, was there any other maniacs who took up all but one patch of road for maximum tapping?

Being able to share countless seedlings with my neighbors was the best part. I started playing back when events had community prizes, so I've always enjoyed the sense of teamwork with my neighbors. Recent events have seemed to place less emphasis on this (limiting our benefits to only the first 30 visits per day; charging premium donuts to buy more seedlings to help our neighbors). Feels good to help others, and it's nice that a neighbor and forum regular let me know.

There were several times I nearly decided to do it, but ultimately decided not to.

Things have been rather crazy at work lately and I didn't find the PM until right after they fixed it.

Oh well, congrats to the lucky ones.

I did and I'm wondering what my neighbors thought about it... Grass and pavement everywhere!

A ton of seeds to share :)

Some other stuff. I wish that a) I'd bothered to use this when I first read the thread, not days later, and b) that I'd had a less crazy week. If I'd had a normal week, I could've raked in the donuts instead of ending up with 18 (ish?). FWP!

This is totally like me. At least I got to use it a bit!

Darn it! Spent actual money on this event (including seedlings) and have not enjoyed it. Still going to get everything I want by grinding mindlessly, but damn diddly damnit! At least I got to use the money mountain glitch for awhile.

Shame on you that have posted on the forum the glitch, so that EA has reacted as fast as possible to correct it!
I have been informed via PM, the very last day, and I have not used it, but without such evidence on the forum maybe the glitch would have been still here...

Ugh now I feel super dumb because someone did pm me about this but I never checked :0 I won't say who in case you don't want me to still but THANK YOU for trying to cut me in!!

Don't feel bad, you're not alone. Someone pm'ed me days ago but to be honest even if I'd gotten it I don't think I would have been able to use it much. Still it gives me the warm fuzzies to think I was considered a regular! 8)

if it had been spread all over the forum EA would have just shut it down way earlier, and we all would have lost out...

Is that just speculation or has that actually happened in the past?

Is something really wrong if there's no punishment for it though? Everyone who knew about the glitch had the same opportunity to use it, so it's still "fair." Of course, those who don't come on the boards missed out, but they miss out on a lot anyway.

Fair is everyone who is playing gets benefit regardless of moral implications (following the rules or not). It was obviously not intended functionality of the game. And according to the terms of service that is against the rules and we are not to do it. Rules without consequence enforcement therefore would imply the game company has the obligation to reward those who followed the rules with the same gain those who didn't follow the rules. After all why should those who followed the rules be punished. As in the instance of this case they most likely are, due to the grind required of this event caused people to not follow the rules to gain what they otherwise could not if thy followed the rules.
I don't have envy of those who got all their SQP tiles through that glitch. Or tons of money on the farm glitch. etc. I've had my turn several times now. Maybe we should call them Easter Eggs. :) We don't know that they aren't even when they get taken away. "limited time" Easter Egg?

Except this was obviously not an easter egg because within an hour or two it appears got many times more materials than one can get for the whole event by playing the way it was designed/intended to be played. Easter eggs are like the tapping homer X times for a few donuts. But again I'm not complaining but trying to point out observation. The summary of which it is hardly fair that those who follow the rules are the ones who are being punished. If they wish there to be no punishment for those who break this rule then they simply should change the rules and put in big bold letters at the top of the terms "go ahead and exploit we don't care as there is no rules against it". Then everyone can do so without care of morals.

Hang on a second. There were absolutely no rules broken here. You tapped a bob clone, visited a friend, and re-entered your town. That's it. No one hacked the game or did anything illicit to gain an advantage. Sounds like sour grapes.

I agree. I didn't take advantage of this glitch but I'm still having a hard time trying to figure out how it's cheating or breaking the rules. I'm also curious about what would be "fair compensation " for those who didn't take advantage. Do you get all the stuff that people who really ground it out for days received? Or just the little guy who did it for an hour? And what about that little guy? Is it not fair that he was only in the know for an hour while his neighbor knew for days? It strikes me that EA's compromise was to drop the cost on craftables. There's your compensation.

I only got to grind for about an hour because I've been off the forum for a couple months. I got the farmer's market, gas 'n grub, 6 donuts, and about 50 seeds.

Thank you for the clues, guys!

No PM for me and therefore no glitch. Just playing normally has allowed me to upgrade Monsarno to 20, herbicide to 15, opera to 9, craft everything on the list and unlock all of the prizes

    Feeling smug

Well, for once in my life, insomnia came in handy for me. I ended up with:

    837,372 music notes
    Crafted:
    31 gas n grubs
    28 farmers markets
    30 cactus patches
    35 cane fields
    5 homer decoys
    10 opera seats
    30 opera booths
    7 sani-johns
    67 walls
    Remaining:
    27,097 fertilizer
    468,453 corn
    12,062 DNA
    129,217 masks

I stockpiled 505 donuts, and spent 780 free donuts on premium items I wouldn't have otherwise bought. (Captain Bob, holo-flag, Waverly Hills, Mel's cannon, a night boat, Vesuvius pizza, Frank Grimes, Marvin Monroe's headstone, McBain's set, and the YMCA)

I'm actually quite glad they patched it, as ridiculous as that sounds. I was addicted for 3 straight days (started 12 hours before Waverley Hills expired), and it's my anniversary with my husband so I'm happy they made the decision for me to stop using the glitch! Lol!
I crafted all those things because I found that if I ever had too much of any one item (usually reaching the 200,000 range) that I wouldn't get the double bonus. Maybe that was just me? I'm not a farmer by any means, but with the increase in house prices, I mean, if nothing else all of the G&G's and farmers markets can be a nice and more importantly free farm if I ever need one.
I also dropped seeds on my friends every 4 hours. I went from 30th place to 2nd place among my friends.
I've played since the game came out, and this is the first glitch I found myself apart of, so I'm pretty happy about it.
I also lost 30 million dollars maxing out the donut bonus, but it was well worth it!

Holy moley! Way to work it!

Quite impressive haul, indeed. I actually got tired of exploiting it after a few days and slacked off. Congrats and Happy Anniversary! 8)
