Dog track

Prev1
It's practically rigged. It's different every time. DO NOT BET AGAIN AFTER BEING FORCED TO DO SO FOR THE QUEST. TC, you've wasted $20,000. I wouldnt reccomend doing it again.

I have played twice, lost twice, well not counting the initial play when you win. If I get to a point to where I have a lot of money and am waiting to buy more buildings or decorations than I might play again, but for the time being $5,000 is too much to spend. I am a level 22, waiting for City Hall to finish, but land is so pricey I like to keep the money I have.

I don't think it is rigged, it is just realistic, there are 5 dogs to choose from and you are having to choose the winner, not placing or anything like that. Basically you have a 20% chance of winning, 1 in 5, it will take luck of course. But tell me anything that I only have a 1 in 5 chance on or 20% and I am going to lose money I do not want to lose, well I am probably not betting.

Don't try it! I just told somebody else in another thread that I've wasted about 30,000 before I realized it's not gonna work. I even used the tricks people mention online.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY LIKE ME! Use it for your land. Save it for the rest of the buildings (if you don't have all of them like me). Decorate your springfield. I would use the money I wasted to buy land now. I so need land and I used everything to buy land. LOL!

i recommend saving your money as you reach higher levels, the other buildings would cost really expensive, right now i'm still 30k short in buying the krabappel appartment (162K) since before it unlocked the quest i bought 3 houses, dang, oh well :P

I played once and I won. 8) And then I stopped, but I think we have to wait, like, level 26-30 before 5k becomes ridiculous?

if you bet on the dog with the worst odds and biggest payoff you will win on the fifth try. you end up breaking even every five bets.

    Practice.

No. Wait. That's Carnegie Hall. It's an unlockable property (Springfield Downs).

This is why I put the track in the right, high corner. I don't want by mistake hit a race, this is like a real life. The oportunity to win, 1 in a million.

The odds are messed up! A $5000 bet on a 9 to 1 shot should pay $45,000 not $25,000 as stated. All the odds are off. Or am I wrong?

Yeah, I had noticed that posted odds don't match the pay outs.

You're supposed to win the first time?

This is how it went for me:

    1) Track finishes building. I'm invited to place a bet.
    2) Dog choices with odds appear.
    3) I move my finger to choose the designated dog, when:

    SERVER ERROR

    4) New list of dogs appears. I choose the designated dog.
    5) I lose.

I bet to the least favorite unless e first dog is 9-1 favorite. I have pretty much even out twice winning the 25,000 and 4 imes 6000+ on The 9-1 favorite in 15 bets...

So just mucking around my Springfield and waiting for Origin to come back up. Think to myself, "I haven't bet on the dogs in a while plus, it's Christmas, what could be more Simpsons than losing at the track."

    Bet on the 9-1 dog.

Enjoyed the new race announcer commentary (the dogs figure out they're chasing a fake rabbit, turn on the announcer) and then won the race!

Fun commentary and $25k? Yes please.

Wow, did someone just do a search for the relevant thread and comment there instead of making a new one?

I guess anything really is possible after all!

I do believe you're right. I saw DohMoe had posted and had to check the date.

I've played 6 times and have yet to win. Any suggestions?
    Who do you usually pick?

    Who do I usually pick?

My pick usually goes like this:

"Oh crap! I actually tapped on the place bet button. Like that's gonna happen. Might as well burn the money for warmth. Abort! Abort!"

The track is a mug's game. They might as well have a mini-game of Snake playing three card monte for doughnuts.

Nuts. I just gave EA another idea to fleece people, didn't I?
