Community prizes impossible??

It's probably fixed, like the past community prizes. We'll get them, one way or another.

Happy tapping!!!!!
Lol.....how are we going to come across 110 MILLION balls? That is about 12 balls for every person who downloaded the game. And since most have quit we probably will need 500-1000 balls each....
The reason why your seeing it go up at the same increment is because of the way it is programmed to reduce server load.
When you collect a certain object 'CommunitySoccerBalls' the game fires a signal to the server that you are adding to the Community Prizes.
When you ask the server about the Community Prizes when you login. The server tells your game a few things.

They WANT people to get community prizes and have lowered the requirements in the past.
Also you don't contribute until you get past quest pt 9 so they might be waiting to see if it speeds up after the holiday weekend
Mine crashes too but not every time.
I just did the math (possibly incorrectly) 4 balls per second is 240 every minute, times 60 is 14400 every hour, times 24 is 345,600 every day. This means we would need over 300 days to get the first prize.
Way to go EA, thank you!
I contributed 2
Yes, any tapper can do it. Happy tapping!
Whether we need to buy the balls or not, the event is set up on the assumption that we do, and when we do, we all benefit with free stuff. When you come to a forum like this and say "don't buy balls, we'll get the community prizes anyway because it's all fixed" you run the risk of discouraging players from buying the balls, and possibly preventing the community from getting the free donuts and other prizes.
That's just not fun.
Edit: I also agree with yelp818 - although they've modified the target in the past, I doubt they'll do it again if they see people aren't making an honest effort. In other words, if people aren't buying and dropping balls, then they might just decide we don't want the prizes. They'll change it if their calculations were wrong and honest efforts aren't enough. They won't change it if we just ignore the balls.
:-)
IMO only EA knows if we'll get the community prizes.
It isn't always 4.5 seconds also why would they waste server calls telling the server to increment the community prize counter if 99.999999% of the games population don't even know how to read the server calls to know that is what is going on.
Ok, my mistake. I took what was posted as counting at 4.5 balls/sec. Which fit what I had witnessed this morning with counter only moving by single digits.
Prize 1: 4 months, 5 days, 5 hours, 24 minutes, 29 seconds
Prize 2: 8 months, 22 days, 14 hours, 24 minutes, 29 seconds
Prize 3: 1 year, 3 months, 7 days, 10 hours, 37 minutes, 49 seconds
Prize 4: 1 year, 8 months, 13 days, 15 hours, 57 minutes, 49 seconds
thanks to spAnser for the calculations *cough*
o joy
LOL LP. Did you factor in that the second prize may be significantly more balls than the 110mil for the first?
He did he knows what all the total #s are. I also posted the new LIVE Community Prize Tracker on my website. (updated once a minute so refreshing the page will always start at the same # until the backend is updated which is once a minute)
Oh good I can put in my calendar now
Is this how it works? The more balls you drop, the faster you get the prizes? Or is that futile optimism?
