Pay attention when spending donuts or you'll make a stupid mistake like I did!

Oh WOW haha! That sounds like something I'd do!

Edit: You're also very lucky you got the donuts back! :-o
But we already did it. It took seven hours, but we did it. It's done.

There are so many interesting things about this post:

On the one hand, the rest of the world basically assumes New Zealand is just like Australia. Same thing, they say. So, who cares if you confuse them.

On the other hand, Kiwis have so much national pride and often believe Australians are almost as ignorant about their country as the rest of the world. And you, as an Aussie, didn't even know what your own flag looked like! And you bought a New Zealand flag instead. ha ha ha ha, they'd say.

Of course, the flags are very similar. And both countries are great.

I don't get why you are going to hide the NZ flag. Why not make a gesture of admiration to your neighbours and put their flag next to yours.

I know what my flag looks like but I just saw a tiny flag on my phone and didn't look at the name and instantly hit buy. It's kinda difficult to see red stars on a tiny screen when the flag is like 1/100th of it.

So great that I forgot about them and assumed only the Australian flag existed in the shop :wink:

I once accidentally bought the purple funzo... being a completionist and possibly someone with OCD didn't help as I then had to buy the other two so I could complete the set :/

I lost over 200 (all freely-acquired) donuts in my second town due to letting my son play with my 'phone for a few minutes. He was playing a different game, but switched to Tapped Out, and spent over 100 donuts upgrading Tap Ball players - I found out this is what he'd done when I went to play Tap Ball vs my second town and found the players way over the level I thought they were at!!

"But you said you lost 200+ donuts!?"

Well, seems my son also turned off "Confirm Donut Spend" so I accidentally rushed a whole level of Burns' money pile.

    Ouch.

I was meant to be saving every single donut in that town to see just how many freebies I could get.

    Experiment over :(

:( that sucks! I tend to try to log out before my nieces play games on my phone so this doesn't happen (I've heard about this happening many times on here, hence the caution). Although they have been told many times they are not supposed to play this game unless I'm supervising I don't want to tempt fate.

could have been worse. i don't buy donuts very often so try and be careful what i spend them on. Imagine my horror about year ago when i was scrolling through the menu planning what i could spend my last 100 donuts on when BAM i bought a pirate ship... 100 donuts GONE!

GUTTED.. although i do quite like it now as I've made it a feature with my squid port.. when it happened i was gutted lol!

and yes I've turned the function on now that i have double tap now to confirm spend age!

So long story short, I decided to spend my precious donuts on an extra Australian flag for my stadium design, except that I instantly saw the flag and didn't read it and bought the New Zealand one. Noooooo

Sorry mate, but that's positively unaustralian.

First thing I did after that was set up Guest Mode on my 'phone which limits the Apps and functionality available. Stable doors and horses and all that ....

To keep with the main story of this topic, though...

I deliberately bought an NZ flag (my sister lives in NZ), along with a Union Flag (I'm from the UK) to go with the many stored US flags I already had.

I like to "pay attention" to avoid "stupid mistakes" no matter what I'm doing.

All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!
