Who else dislikes Springfield Heights? And why?

Prev1345
You bring up valid points. I hadn't thought of it like that. I do dislike that it is different then the main game and I hate all items that are not from episodes. I haven't decided if I like it or not yet. It does require a lot of constant play.

one thing people still don't take in consideration is time:
THERE IS NO TIME LIMIT. you can do this in 1 year and still get it.

The good news is that it's optional. I did the tunnel in my main town but will ignore it-- for now-- in my secondary town as it's time consuming.

I don't like that we can't sell the items aswell as that we can't show of level 1 condo if you fully upgraded it.

    The rest is fine

and this is what i like most about this update.

Yes i wanted a break on my normal springfield agreed, and yes its a little tedious tapping so much, but i'm in no rush on SH i'll do it eventually and i'll enjoy doing it slowly!

    * The jobs in Springfield Heights are very short, and require you to play for extended time at once in order to accumulate enough chairs, coffee, or other currency to progress in the game. I would rather send characters on 60 minute or 12 hour jobs to accumulate currency than sit tapping on the same store over and over again every 30 seconds for 10 minutes. This is tedious and boring.

Agreed! My nexus is crying because of the empty battery and now i don't have any free time...all hopes getting rest after event is gone *(

I am a little disappointed the max item limit did not increase and SF Heights counts against that number.

No other concerns thus far. Having fun and enjoying this new twist in our silly little game.

    * The tunnel required a redesign of our Springfields to accommodate it.

*The buildings in Springfield Heights are mostly obscure in the tv show. Shop (Ikea) is a nice addition, but the generic coffee shop and others are hardly memorable from episodes. And am I wrong, or do the condos never actually appear in the cartoon?

*This update feels like SIMs or Farmville, or some other nonsense.

*ANOTHER update with crafting? We /JUST/ finished Tapball. Like many users, I wanted a break to return to the normal, main game.

*The "feel" of this expansion is completely different than the regular game. I don't enjoy the game as much now. I am considering taking a break.

    Oh, come on!

I don't have to redesign anything, I moved one building.

The jobs were very short in the start of the game as well.

So what if you don't feel related to the buildings. I have not seen more than 13-14 seasons of Simpsons (they don't show in Denmark) so I don't know half of the character. I still enjoy the game.

Who are you to say SIMS are nonsense? There are millions of people playing that. (Not me, Im an adventure gamer, but I still enjoy Sim City)

Nota an update, an extansion. How hard can it be to understand that?

My advice - take a break.

The only thing I dont like, is that I cannot line up the road to the entrance of the tunnel. But I have seen a neighbour who managed. How???
And IKEA is swedish!!! Not danish.

The only thing I don't like is that you can't send more characters to do the tasks and theres a storage limit. Other than that I like SH because it feels like a new game. I was getting bored with my town and was about to nuke it again for the 3rd time just to change it up.

Oh crap!! This will make staying under the required amount limit increasingly difficult

I'm liking it a LOT for the following reason ... It's like a crafting event with absolutely NOTHING left to chance, AND no time limit. Almost every object can be gotten for freemium players ... I am in total control of what I get, and there are many, many things (future as well) that are no cost at all. All that plus awesome "prizes" with each real estate "landmark goal" you reach.

Since its a permanent update, I can treat it as a mini-game" .. If I want to add something to my SH, I just grind for an hour or two and get it. I think of the materials as ingame cash, and I think of the real estate as XP, and I think of the special landmark prizes as FP awards.

If I don't feel like grinding for a few days, or weeks, i don't add to my SH for that period. Just like Krustyland. If I don't want to buy more stuff there, I don't go there.

I'm going to predict that there will be longer tasks in the future in other buildings we will be getting in our quests. :)

You asked the question, who dislikes this update. My answer is not me, I am enjoying this new addition and look forward to playing this game again.

I do agree on the short time spans to generate craftables/currency is not the best.

I'm not enjoying the process of grinding out the short-duration items... coffee in particular. Whether I do it over a short time horizon of if I take two years, it is a lot of repetition.

In the past day, TSTO has become a different game than the one that I've been playing for the past 2 years. I can make really fast progress on SH (I'm #3 on my leader board; for typical events I'm in the 40's somewhere), but I'm not really having fun. I think to have more fun, I need to play it less. That is not really a successful game design.

So far, the new content is strange. It's mostly stuff that I do not recognize from the show. The things I do recognize, they gave us right away at the beginning (Cookie Kwan, Red Blazer, Slant Oil). Thanks and all. But now what? I guess we'll see.

The extra space will be really good, once unlocked. That's a big plus. I can put my fancy stuff there and make the main part of Springfield the depressing, dingy, stinkhole it was always meant to be.

I think everything that the op stated, while probably being valid, is workable.

I see what seems like continuous grinding at first to be short term. Eventually it will slow down, or you can ease off when you decide that you're at that point. As LP said in his comment, there's nothing here that's limited time (with the exception of a couple of premiums that don't even require the expansion currency. So you can take as long as you want to advance everything. I plan to mindlessly tap during tv time tonight like I usually do. Unless you're concerned with being ahead of all of your neighbors on the leader board, it won't make a difference when you get things.

Plus, I like Shop. I have waited for this IKEA knockoff for a whole year. I just hope that Allen Wrench will be added sometime in the near future. I don't mind the non-canon items, after all the neighborhood is supposed to be upscale and we have a lot of that stuff already in existence in SF, if not built yet by lower level players. You can move it to SFH, no problem.

This, however, needs to be altered. The issue that Sandwedgeking posted, I mean.

This. So much this. I work in retail, so I don't have time to go to my phone every two minutes. Plus the timer for the donut shop is 4 days. Is that all the time we have? No way I'm unlocking everything in that time.

I do like the idea. I literally said "Wow" when I saw behind the tunnel. And a character for free? Yes please. But yeesh...I'd much rather have to wait for the currencies than worry about how much I'll be missing while I'm at work for 8 hours.

EDIT: Oh, it's permanent? I don't have to upgrade everything in 4 days? Well, I feel better about THAT. My point still stands, though.
