No reason you can't have both!

I have learned from my wife (whom I will admit is much wiser than me) that TSTO can be overly time-consuming, especially when you add forum involvement. However, it is possible to read/post on the forums several times per day, plus visit neighbors and complete tasks... so long as you plan efficiently and don't waste time.

It is easy to waste time in the game (browsing neighbors' towns, updating your own town), but you can be far more effective if you plan what you want to do ahead of time. I worked on a plot storyline last night. My wife thought I was crazy (as she did when I calculated ROU on land/building purchases), but let it go because she knew I hadn't been on the forum/game all day.

If your time is limited, I recommend that you come up with a 3 hr per day time plan. In that time, you can visit your neighbors, check the forums several times, and complete any character tasks you want. TSTO will only take the time you allow it.

By the way, if you aren't maxed out on level 25 and finished with the storyline, I would ESPECIALLY advise you to take your time. There is no reward for bring maxed out!
