Straight Tracks for Monorail

Prev1
I'm getting this too. I have tons of curved and s-tracks that I will never use, and I'm getting only 1-2 straight tracks per week.

This is a joke, right? Except they just made people pay 400 donuts for the railyard that makes almost nothing that's useful.

i think they messed up when they decided to make different track pieces.

Every piece should be the same and when you rotate it after the piece rotates to the 4 possible alignments it then next rotates to the next style of track and so on.

that way you would have a total number of track pieces and you can use each one any way you want.

I'm still working very hard to get the straight tracks. If I have enought straight tracks, I'm going to move my 4 monorail stations to the 4 corners of my town! :)

At least at this point we should be able to exchange track shapes. This week I hit the jackpot -- THREE pieces of straight track! C'mon, EA, either up the percentage of straight track pieces or let us exchange the curved ones for straight ones.

well i'm done earning track pieces for like another 4 days until it resets....so I should be able to pay money like we do for boardwalk tiles in the mean time. :?

A simple solution. Track exchange should be added to the rail yard. It should be simple enough to code and doesn't require the addition of anything except a new tab to the rail yard UI.

EA have obviously engineered it so that it takes much longer grinding to get enough track to make a decent monorail They know straight track is what we all want and need so they keep them scarce to make us grind more and more. I definitely agree with the comment about a track switcher at the rail yard though. That would make everybody happy.

Agree! It is sad that so many have expressed the need for long, straight monorail tracks, but the five weekly tasks still give curves, short tracks and waves almost exclusively. I was extremely disappointed to see the same old mix of lousy track pieces awarded in this week's Railyard jobs. Developers, have you seen the many, many posts requesting more straight tracks? Are you ignoring us? What is the motivation for giving these useless tracks? It's not as if we can purchase our preferred pieces with donuts! I just don't get it!

At least if you put two S-tracks next to each other it will still work basically the same as two straight pieces. It'll just be a very interesting ride for the passengers. :)

I have 30 curved tracks and 18 S curves in my inventory. They keep adding up.

I've now got 40 curved pieces of track

Something does need to be looked into about giving us more chance or the possibility of gaining straight pieces

I just did a track audit so you data crunchers can have another test sample to analyze. Here's the results:

    Straights - 59
    Curves - 31
    Shorts - 24
    Ess - 16

How does that compare? Does it support or contradict the supposed odds?

Incidentally, to complete my 5-stop loop i now need only 38 more straights and 2 "S" tracks. I have a surplus of 13 curves and no surplus shorts but there would be an extra 8 if ideally swapped for 4 more straights, which would mean needing 42 more straights instead. I wonder how long it will take to achieve them?
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!

You are very close to my totals on those two pieces, making me wonder what your totals are for the other two shapes. Do you have ~60 straights and ~25 shorts?

ended up doing this to finally connect the loop on my rail.... 4 curves (same as 3 straight) and/or 2 S-curves (same as 2 straight) keep my design going in the right direction... just makes for a roller-coaster type ride for that quarter of the total loop.... I just swap out the curves with straight ones as I get enough.

they just need to introduce the Frink-de-curverator so we can run the curved pieces through it and straighten them

I am happy to report I have received 3 for 3 in straight track pieces today. I'll get the random 3 pieces in a few hours, let's hope this trend continues!

    How about you folks?

Three pieces of track and not a single straight piece. :-(

I just completed this week's collection.

    7 - Straight
    1 - Curved
    4 - S-shape
    4 - Short

I think three of those S tracks were in my last group of five. MUCH happier with these results.

Anyone else get similar results? Wondering if I just got lucky or if EA fixed it in the update.

Not really seeing an increase in straights. But I'm still grinding. Only need 34 more straights.

I'm using the short straights in pairs, but behind buildings because i don't like the extra support columns.

Can't wait for this track to be done! I'm really glad i can keep on task and do Halloween. I'm wondering if I'll get the +5 donuts this time, but i think I'm on track.
