Also, if you must do this, make sure there is enough road that all the characters aren't bunched up on top of each other.
I realized that was an issue when I tried tapping in my B town from my A town, so I moved my street square one row further out from the campfire. If it's still a problem tomorrow I'll try to spread mine out a little more.
It also helps if you connect the street to the Boardwalk. The Boardwalk is almost equivalent to the streets for the characters, but they need to be connected to get the full benefit.
I just removed all but one strip of road. My Springfield isn't very big, so the stretch of road should be easy to find. I have it connected to my boardwalk.

Hey neighbour
Thanks for doing this - your town is VERY easy to tap
I've taken out my roads except for a campfire strip, and I've left my bridges - The problem is, I don't know if it works. Have you noticed? Is my town easy to tap, or do I need to take out my bridges too?

Looks good to me. Bridges shouldn't be a problem. I'll test it out tomorrow on my next round of visits.
I did this on day 1. I started with replacing roads with rivers. But i didn't like the look of it so went with pavement instead. If nothing else I just hope it makes it easier to find snakes and bunnies
@orionsbell:
When you are visiting a neighbor the game puts characters that are on inside tasks into random skins/costumes. The neighbor doesn't even necessarily have to have those skins/costumes!

I was aware of that. Just didn't notice the image was from a neighbor visit screen.
Neighbor visits have become intolerable with this event. We're spending minutes tracking down Nightmares to tap in your towns where we used to spend seconds. Nightmares (that would be zombies, snakes, bunnies, and skeletons) are attracted to streets. If you have streets all over your town the nightmares will wander all over the place.
You can replace all the streets in your town with concrete. Yes, I know, it doesn't look as nifty. But you get used to it.
Replacing your streets with concrete will only take a few minutes. I was having problems the other day and tried removing all my streets (and concrete street replacements). It took less than 10 minutes. That didn't solve my issue so I put them all back. Less than 10 minutes again - and that included referring to my guide when I couldn't remember exactly where stuff was.
And think of the long term time saving benefits. No more dragging around town looking for invaders that walk the streets- they come right to your remaining street section for you to tap.
Here's my example:
And as a bonus most of your outdoor characters will gather up in that one area as well. No more searching all over town trying to find them. (Certain characters on certain tasks will wander all over town anyway - nothing you can do about that unfortunately.)
Oh, and there's another bonus! When the Formless Terrors appear they pop in on streets. If you only have one area of street you always know where they've popped in. This also helps with dropping them: When you drop a Formless Terror your screen whangs around to a random street area - if there's only one it doesn't have to do that. It also helps with finding the street. Drop a Formless Terror in a neighbor's town where they only have one section of street and you'll also find their Nightmares to tap.
Thx you for the heads up. Going to make the change right now. Took me forever to tap those damn things!
Not a chance I'm removing my roads. You can only do 30 neighbors a day to earn currency, and it doesnt benift them, so if I don't find something quick, I drop them a formless terror and move onto the next.

I go through towns and if I don't find anything I move on after making a drop. I'll also go to Forum Members' town first if I am running low on time, or just feeling lazy.

Word. I'm not changing for anyone. What I do is save up my "monsters", when I tap the monsters in my town, I see who sent them, go straight to their town and repay them. The sounds that you hear when you enter friends towns tell you if they have the nightmares you need. If I don't hear the sound of what I need, I leave. I hate going into someone's town and all their characters are cramped up on 3 spaces of road. Just saying
I removed most of my roads, with the exception of the short strip right next to my fireplace landing zone, all y characters are in indoor tasks away from the landing zone, and all NPCs are temporarily stored
I understand if people aren't willing to remove there roads but what about a compromise. Put some kind of decoration that tells us what nightmare your currently producing?
For example you could place 1 or 2 bunny hedges as a sign that your currently producing bunnies, or some bush or hedge on your landing zone for snakes, perhaps Bart's treehouse near the landing zone to symbolize skeletons? Etc, etc.

I'm doing this, mostly just for fun but I'm hoping it will catch on. I play with the sound off so I can't tell without a visual clue what each town is producing (and there isn't a storyteller visible on the crates when the task's time is up).
I'm using the Easter float, scary tree, snake rock, and Disco Stu statue.
I have too many streets, and have some designer road area's that would be a pain in my * to have to redo. If you're on my list and don't like it, don't let the swinging doors hit your rear on the way out. There are plenty of fish in the sea to replace you.

Whao there! Um, how did you get three kids into a Nightmare pile costume at the same time?! [Rod, Todd, and Jimbo]
