Neighbor Etiquette
I think you might as well drop everything you have. Sadly it's a lot harder to coordinate without an easy message system. It's a nice thought to share, but I think you'll find it difficult to coordinate with the other friends and their friends.

It's kind of a catch-22 ... I have such trouble finding ANY town that can accept blobs, that when I DO get to one, I dump as much as they can take, so that my other neighbors don't see on their neighbor screen that I'm sitting on top of 300 blobs, and wonder why I don't get off my rear and share.
I check several times a day to see which neighbors are below the calendar target, and see if they have room for any blobs. If they do, I drop as many as they can take. I don't know how many neighbors they have, and figure maybe they need the help. (And hope they're not sound asleep, because the blobs evaporate after 4 hours, and I don't know where on the planet the player is, so maybe they're in Europe and it's 3AM and they'll never even know I was there.) Then I go to towns who are ahead of the target, and see what I can find.
But I STILL have too many to drop ... so if I see a notification popup that someone has "assisted" me, I go to their town right away and drop a bunch, hoping they're still in their town to clean up and we both get maximum benefit.
But dropping a low number DOES sound like a great plan. I'd never thought of it that way. Maybe three or four? And then when people see that I have 746 blobs ...
Should I not flood them? I like to be a good neighbor.
You are helping them and I would say continue. It does hurt their other neighbors since they can drop blobs, but this really can't be helped. When I do my rounds, I generally drop off only a few so I can give to all my neighbors. During the day, I give out maximum based on who dropped off in my town assuming that they will clear them out right away.
As one of your neighbors I appreciate all the blobs you drop
I drop 10 in a town if I can......lots of my neighbours are full so I unload where I can.
I think everyone seems to be doing well in this event, so I wouldnt worry to much about how many and how often you dump blobs.
I have been on a lot lately, so have had plenty to drop. And been clearing.
Unsettling, isn't it? LOL. You probably clicked in the middle of my post instead of after the final closing endtag thingamajig, and it just inserted what you wrote. (It certainly had me stumped for a moment.)
Tell your husband I said thank you, and that I'm in no need of any blobs at all, so he should spread them to people who might need them more, and if he has leftover, send me one.
After my first round of dropping FTs I've just been dropping one or two in each town as I can - unless I know them or want to show my appreciation for removing all their streets except for a confined area so I can find Nightmares to tap. (Hint, hint)
My thought is that you are over thinking it.
This is a game, so you just have fun and play how you feel comfortable. You don't make yourself uncomfortable trying to guess what's convenient for dozens of random people.
Leave what you can, move on. I visit my neighbors multiple times per day, depending on the feedback I'm getting from their participation notifications. A few of my friends must live logged in 24-7, so they drop FTs on me a lot, and i respond asap for the max benefit to each of us.
So sometimes i leave 0-1, and sometimes i leave 10. No stress either way.
Keep calm and tap on!
The last couple of days I start the day with approx. 60-70 terrors, but some days I might have accumulated a bit more (100-ish)
Here is what I do with them:
[li]During the daily visits, I will dump 1 or 2 FT per neighbor, depending on the amount I have when I start. If I get a FT from that neighbor during visiting his/her town I will spent that FT back into that town as well.[/li] [li]There are always neighbors in which towns I cannot release FT, because they're full. We all have that and for me it hovers around 10%. Those FT that I cannot spent for that neighbor will remain part of my stock. If I get a FT from that neighbor in their town this also becomes also part of my stock.[/li] [li]At the end of the rounds I end up with less (but not zero) FT, lets say around 30.[/li] [li]Those 30 FT will be used by me for neighbors who release FT in my town. Typically I return 5 as a minimum with 2 sidenotes: a) if their town is full, I will try to remember to return the favor at a later time, but this is no guarantee. b) if they only have room for less then 5, I will fill their town up untill it's full and what remains stays in my stock.[/li] [li]I will release 10 FT in a neighbors town, if I: a) get an in-game message telling me neighborX has released FT in my town or, b) get a notification (while not playing) and I'm able to logon at that moment... ... to immediately return the favor. Most of the time they are still online, their town is free of FT and I can release 10 of them which they can then collect[/li] [li]For some of neighbors I know in which timezone they live, because they play when I'm
In the meantime I will collect FT from my own town adding to my stock during normal play. Because I'm on vacation, I can collect almost every nightmare the game generates and also keep the kids busy for most of the time and have them tell 5 stories in 24 hours.
So that's it and now I going to visit the neighbors.
