Since these two areas are in opposite corners of my town, I use my teleporters to go back and forth!!
We have a winner!
I added teleporters between SH & Railyard too.. Save time for movement.
With SH 2, all my drafting characters now shifted from Railyard to SH. Only left a few characters doing lvl 1-2 rail production. Not enough characters to do lvl 4-5 rail production until reset.
Monorail tracks are a weekly reset. SFH is around permanently.
As always, temporary trumps permanent. (And the free donuts help too. :P)
I can knock off the tracks in 48-72hrs, depending on life & if I don't get tons of the same material needed repeatedly. After that, the next 4-5days are in SFH.
I sometimes have the "leftover" SFH producers doing some minor earning during tracks, but it doesn't phase me if I just use 4hr tasks instead & wait 'til everyone's free for SFH.
I just don't understand why the same people who recycle are the same that make the currency in Springfield Heights....
Simple.
Monorail was an event. All characters able to work there are from L20 or less (Quimby is the highest-level character). That way, all players could participate with most/all people able to work there.
The same principle works for S Heights.
You can only build the tunnel and access it at L30 or more. All characters are from those levels (except Herman (L30) and Wolfcastle (L31), but as the Theater is the last building you'll get to, you should have them by then).
That way, all players can use everyone with their production jobs, without having to wait to level up.
Obviously there's crossover because of this. But EA's doing it so ALL players can participate. :-)
Also the premium characters (Frink, Disco Stu, Bumblebee Man, SVT, BHL, Jasper, and Otto) don't overlap with the monorail ones. Dewey Largo and Uter work exclusively on the other side too (and Brandine, Jesse Grass, and the Hippie though those are a bit difficult to acquire right now).
Last night I maxed out yoga mats to 200. I am now hoping to max out magazines today, or at least get as close to 200 as possible. Only then will I begin buying more land. My process is to do this very systematically.
As for the Rail Yard, I literally need for more straight long tracks to *finally* connect all four of my stations, so hopefully next week (but who knows; last week I got a grand total of two tracks). Once that's done, I'm giving the Rail Yard grinding a break. Regardless of the event, the Rail Yard has been taking precedence over all. And SH Pt II is long term, no need to really rush it -- and it looks like the Ornate Pier is going to take a LOOOONG time to complete anyway.
Two hours per tile is a lot faster than the squidport's two days per tile. It's more difficult to see the point of the ornate pier at this... point.... is all.
Railyard gets priority, but still do both at the same time.... usually land the donuts by Thursday/Friday, then all the heights helpers head back over to focus there (if needed).... the heights has no time limit, so no rush there (and really no rush now that the part 2 buildings have vanished in my town)
It was a bit crazy this week with the new Springfield Heights. I ended using up resources for the monorail first, then leftovers for SH. Just got the 5 donuts from the monorail, now have resources all on SH.
When Christmas update starts, I'll stop tasking SH and monorail.
A quick question about the railcard. Which is the best and quickest option out of the small, medium and large tasks? Is there a formula to work out how to get 70,000 the quickest?
However, you can tap on the Monorail project board, it'll say "head to the rail yard" and then you tap okay. It sends you to where ever you put your rail yard, which could potentially be right across town. To get back (getting back only works during the week of crafting. To get back to the Monorail project board, tap on a task you haven't completed yet, select "Do it" the option will be for donuts or to grind it out, of course select "do it" for grinding it out and it'll take you back to the location of the monorail project board.

Monorail I haven't touched since summer, my track's long enough and somehow I'm still getting donuts for free.

I choose not to sleep and if this affects my morning routine, then so be it, i can always make cereal for breakfast.

Maybe you can save time on this glitch before they fix it.
Put most of the railyard away and the monorail too
