Well, there's another thread about this and one guy said that he got off the phone with EA and they need to elevate the issue and 72 hours we may have an answer. Too bad, cause I'm getting visits, meaning some people are just playing fine...
I started the other thread on Friday. No email from EA. It's a weird issue because I can log in on my phone and iPad with my two other accounts. And yes, I have gotten visits and can visit that particular account.
Mine is fixed. I don't know what happened. Call for n times EA, spent almost 25 minutes with the customer service. She put me on hold a lot while she was talking to the "specialist" after all of that she told me everything was fine and I'd be able to play. And it worked.
So, my advice to you, call EA, provide the mayhem ID (I didn't, but they were so asking for it) and perhaps it'll work it out.
By the way, I called a lot... surely they wanna get rid of me so they help otherwise I'd be calling a lot... be intense.

I'm in the UK, so can't ring EA. However, I also got this fixed via their live chat. Took a while but in the end they rolled my game back to before the crashing started (4 days ago), managed to get 60 donuts for my troubles as well.
Spent another 20 minutes on phone with EA. Went through all the usual uninstall, clear cache talk. Said they would send it to their email team. :shock:

I'm in Spain. Kinda shocked you're not able to call them in the UK... I think they already have the fix, so otherwise I would have been stuck yet.
Only bad thing about this is that a lot of neighbors removed me... I know it cause I finally could accept a lot of friend requests. No donuts whatsoever, but at least I'm playing again.
Okay...last week I contacted EA by phone and they "escalated" my issue. After getting no response on my escalation, I tried via email. Again my issue was "escalated" with no response. I just finished online chat with EA and guess what, they "escalated" my issue. I asked about rolling back my account to an earlier date (as I've heard this is the solution) and he said that any progress I made would be lost. I responded that I hadn't been able to log in for a week. What progress could I lose? I'm living in a Dilbert cartoon.
It's been days now since I could play. Spinning donut, and back out to main screen. I am on a Kindle Fire. I am getting really pissed. I thought the new update today would help, but it didn't and now I am missing the valentines event.
I just got that problem usually all it takes is a soft or hard reset but this tie i exahusted all the options from cache clearing to unistall reinstall, using it on a separate device, it boils down it being my account i kinda wish they wold just rollback my town i feel that may help if this doesnt get resolved soon i'll just straight up ask for it.
I've been playing for probably 2-3 years now and this has never happened for so long. I have an iPhone 6 and the game crashes when I try to go past the opening screen. It's been like this for almost a full week. There was a small update but nothing. I even deleted the app and reinstalled and it still does the same thing. I've also logged out and logged back in. Please fix! I have many donuts to spend!!!!
I have the same issue on an iPhone 6. I haven't been able to play since last Friday (2/5). Today's update didn't help either. Game still crashes at load screen.

both the left or right button, or going back to the main neighbor screen will crash the game.
edit: i re-installed the game and everything is fine already.
