Wow I wish I'd found this sooner. I started doing my Springfield like this for a year now ever since I saw the guide map. I didn't see anything like this from my neighbors and didn't think anyone else was interested in doing it. Everyone's Simpson House is facing the same way. So what a find this thread is, personally!

Anyways, I tried to make mine as close as possible to the map. When I first started, everything looked a little tight. But with the big land expansions that have come within the past year, I've been able to place the major buildings and such to where I want them. I was a little bummed about the Springfield Heights expansion primarily because of this very map and where they placed it, and how I had my stuff, but then realized again that overall these depictions are not all accurate anyways, it's just a game, etc. But on the other hand, room for more stuff that's in my inventory that's not on the map. And now my Springfield's a mixture of this map (mostly) and my own (except for Hank Scorpio's Lair having an underground look I borrowed from some designs I've seen). I'd say from the police station and Android's Dungeon all the way to the end of the Pressboard Estates is what I've kept the same. I've moved the Central Monorail station to the area near the hospital and maneuvered the tracks to how it is on the map. Not sure how I'm having the other stations, as I'm using all the track pieces for just this one first. Wasn't sure about the mall area, so there's buildings all around that side I haven't gotten around to rearranging. I even crammed Death Mountain, Kane Manor, Lincoln's cabin, the gingerbread house, and a few others in a strip surrounded by a body of water to separate from the town sort of. There's still some other building I have that are out of place, and some empty plots of land (still waiting for Neon Signs!). Every now and then I look up screenshots from the show of certain locations and try to fix it up on the game. I moved all Heights related buildings in the new area, and it's looking cramped in there too so hoping some expansions for that will come soon.

Overall, I'm happy with the way it looks, and will be peeking in on this thread often. Great job on the look, Bravewall and everyone else. I'd like to get a good screenshot, especially at that height, how do you get that? I bumped some neighbors off that were inactive so if anyone's interested, add me. Keep up the good work, thanks.

Thanks rocom82. Yours will be the last neighbour request I take for at least a month. All my neighbours are now fairly active. So sorry everyone else, but for now no new friend requests. especially if you PM me, asking me to add you, because I can only say it so many times... I physically can't add you. You would have to add me... but not for another a month.

I've only started playing since this past December, but I enjoy following what information I can get my hands on to making my Springfield as closely related to the overlay map that was given. I've gone ahead and outlined more building locations that have since been revealed that were previously not part of the latest overlay:

I hope Bravewall continues this thread, I'd like to see what his updates include by now. The only reason I wouldn't showcase my game so far is because I'm seriously lacking the land expansions I need to place the buildings I have. I've been getting everything that is time sensitive when it comes to donuts, but they are all bunching up as I try to earn the land expansions slowly.

Okay it has been a while, but lets see what I can do to help with this Casino Update. First, here is an updated list of all the added buildings in the guide:

    http://i.imgur.com/uZcm6Wy.jpg

I did a complete overhaul of the red rectangles, because it was getting to be pretty cluttered. Those rectangles can now hold multiple locations inside of them, as long as they have been added to the game. Much less clutter now.

Here is the newest version of my grid overlay on top of the guide.

    http://i.imgur.com/tDJXRcC.jpg

Looks quite a bit different I know. Not only am I trying to remove more clutter, but I'm trying to make this easier to edit, as new strips of land are being added to the game much more frequent than they used to. There were so many numbers to keep track of, and most were hardly readable. I used to have to move each individual price to somewhere within each tiny square so that it was at least somewhat visible. It was tediously ugly, and it looked ugly. Now I've made lines that connect similar priced spaces, the way a map of a subway connects stations. I don't know if this will be easier to follow along with, but it will be easier for me to produce these updates for you, at a much more desirable timeframe.

Some of this grid might be inaccurate or incomplete. If you notice anything out of place, please let me know.

    --

Now with this photoshop work out of the way, I can actually spend some time moving my town over to accurately match it. Thank goodness for the new multi-item move tool. This is the game functionality that I, and probably you as a guide follower have been waiting for. I should be able to move everything over in a matter of hours, as opposed to a matter of days. I'm not saying this will leave me with enough time to bring this forum thread back to the way it used to be, but it helps me at least still have a presence here.

Sorry again for being so unreliable. Even though I spend long amounts of time away from the forum, I am still fairly active in the game. After clearing my neighbours of inactive users, I now have 10 available spots. So if you would like to follow along with my Springfield to help you follow the guide, it is first-come-first-serve. I only ask you follow the same 2 conditions that I've explained in detail multiple times in previous posts.

Step 1. Be sure to pm me. I won't accept your invite if you don't PM me.
Step 2. Do not ask me to send you an invite. You must must send it to me.

Also, if you are still looking to be a guide follower AND a completionist, I will again suggest sending an invite to bartlagos, who continues to amaze me with both his guide following, and his sheer amount of disposable income. One of the few peoples towns I regularly like to explore.

Thanks for the add Bravewall, I've enjoyed looking through your town when I visit you. There are some buildings in your new overlay map that aren't included: The Springfield Drive-In Theater and Der Krazy ****, both are located near the Municipal House of Pancakes.

Question: Is there any location suitable for the Vesuvius Pizza, I couldn't find it on the map?

Oh Jeez... Thank you for pointing out the Krazy ****. I spent a very long time looking for that. I was debating wether or not to spend the donuts on it, because I could have sworn I've heard that name enough, while glossing over the guide, but I just couldn't find it again when I needed to, and I didn't spend the donuts. Now thats going to be the number one thing I hope they bring back.

The reason I didn't add the Drive-in, was there is two Drive-in theatre locations on the guide, and I didn't want to make up anyones mind over which Drive-in they should pick. I will say that the drive-in we got with the space mutant, looks an awful lot like the flea market drive in in the top right corner, from the episode when Selma marries Troy McClure. Because it isn't specified though, I will leave that open to your interpretation.

I couldn't find any vesuvius Pizza. I believe that is from after 2005, so Jerry and Terry wouldn't have added it to the guide. I would personally think it would go well with all the other wacky restaurants near municipal house of pancakes, or may near the Mall, if you are looking to fill in some open space.

I'll be sure to update the Crazy **** soon. Thanks for looking out. Let me know if you spot anything else. I know there are a few land squares without prices on the third column from the right. This is because I cannot for the life of me find any updated land value charts on the internet. Thats pretty much the reason I never had an updated grid for you last time we got a new strip of land. I just couldn't complete the grid, and I just gave up. But this time I figured if thats the only reason I can't get these updates done in a timely fashion, then I might as well just leave the few squares priceless for now.

Well now that you mention it, since this morning I found a few more places that weren't updated on your overlay map, KrustyLu Studios and Channel 6 weren't marked as well as Stu's Disco and Springfield Convention Center. The Big T tree is located right next to Springfield Downs. Even though the Adult Education Annex isn't specifically located on the map, in the wiki it's designated as the Adult Center which is located to the right of Veterans Park above the 4H Club. Lastly even though Sh0p isn't included in the buildings, the design of the building is exactly the same as the Furniture Shop from Springfield Heights, so it would make for a good place for it IF they never decide to include Sh0p.

That's about all I could find. Since I've been following your guide, I've been making sure to look out for any building that might be on the map when it's limited time only. I hope they bring back some of the buildings that I wasn't able to get because I wasn't playing yet.

Bravewall, can we get an updated image of your town even if it is not completed? I keep switching back and forth from my town to your town in the game, and copying it that way. I could double my time if I could look at an image on my desktop and then copy it to my game without switching back and forth IN game. It would be very helpful if you have the time. :)
