Slots vs Dice: join the experiment

Still trying to develop the best strategy with casino games.
Since in-game probability has nothing to do with real life, there is (almost) no sense in math based schemes. Here is a table with the results of my practice experiment. I played 5 rounds of 22 games (11 at Cletus's and 11 at Moe's in rotation). 110 games in total. Playing Dice I didn't stick to one number but did all numbers starting with 7, then 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 (11 games, that is why one round is 22 games).

What do you think, is there any sense? Or is it just coincidence?

If you are interested to join this experiment and share your results, you need minimum of 22 tokens to play full round - 11 Dice games and 11 Slots. Would be interesting to have more information. :)

Light grey - Dice games
Dark Grey - Slots
Red cell - cheating.
Yellow - totals for each semi-round.
key - keychains
co - coasters
mrt - martinis

This is an excellent initiative karakira4s!

In the absence of being able to look up the source code (which I understand is too convoluted to do at this point), large set statistical analysis is the only way to get the answers to the questions we have had all over these forums! Unfortunately I can't help out since my strategy is to spend them all in Act 3, but hopefully you get some participants for your experiment - it looks well designed and thought out.

I've got a whole bunch of tokens I'll be blowing this afternoon/evening. I'd like to contribute, but don't know how best to do so. I don't have Excel at home, and know nothing about creating a spreadsheet from scratch.

Apart from good ol' pencil-n-paper, do you have a viable suggestion for how I might package the data for you?

For me Moe's is infinitely better than the dice game.

Thank you anaquarind! I made another 2 rounds and Dice is still leading. Wish you luck with your strategy, sounds like it requires patience and willpower. :)

Thank you, it would be great if you join! I can create a table on google docs for example, but later, now it's dinner time and I will get some free time in 2.5-3 hours, when my family will go to bed. :) If you can't wait it would be nice if you just could do the same table on a paper and then send me a photo of it via PM, since we are in different time zones I will have the whole day to process your data.

No trouble. I can wait. A Google Doc will work just fine. :)

    Well, here goes my contribution.

    Game: Cletus Dice Game
    Type: Always going for #2
    Number of games: 50

Note: I counted the failed games as 10 chips (since after 10 failed games we get 100 chips in crafting)

    List of games
    Capturar2.png

    Resume
    Capturar1.png

    In the end:
    - Won 5180 chips
    - Average 103,6 chips/token
    - Won this type of game in 12 ocasions (24%)
    - Won this type of game in 2 ocasions as a result of cheating (4%)

Later I will do the same for Moe's game...

I don't need to do tables on what games I have available. I do know, that Gaming Moe's has better odds. Moe's gets you a humongous more amount of chips than Cletus' cruddy Dice Den. Since I don't have Homer's House of Cards, I can't compare that yet, but, as far as i'm concerned, Moe's is my choice for blowing gold coins, plus it rewards more coaster, key chains, and now, a ton of martini's, plus, Sky Finger told me, that there are several Floozies that frequent Moe's, so, what Sky Finger says, stays in Vegas. That's my story, and i'm sticking to it.

I think because people win more times in Moes they think it's better but at the dice game, you win more chips if you do win. Also, it would depend what number you pick at the dice game because if you always pick 7 you won't get as much if you always pick 2

I did a really quick and small test (of 4 on each) and got 400 on the dice game (always picking 12) and then 595 on the slots game (0, 175, 400 cheat, 20)

I had collected a lot of chips from act 1 and did my own statistics in the afternoon: 50x Moe and 110x Cletus (10 for each number).
If you are interested I will search my notes later.

In Act 1, it took me a wHile to get to level 2 crafting, but by choosing 9 repeatedly (mindlessly tapping in the same spot) at Cletus', it took no time to reach level 3. It seemed like everything helped me advance.

    Just my experience.

Ahh spreadsheets the delicious fruit of numbers.... there is a specific pattern for some rolls like when choosing 2 as a lucky number in dice den you'll get 4, 4, 11 when losing, or a 3,5,7.
while i havent written them down, definitely for this act if i sit down and spend some i'll write it down.

For coasters, horse shoes, courtesy chips i think dice den is better, mainly because you can choose a higher number specifically to lose and reel in those courtesy chips, and= on the off chance that you win you get 400 it's a win win, so if you ever get a "acquire courtesy chip" daily task you know: choose Dice Den.

    In the end:
    - Won 4795 chips
    - Average 95,9 chips/token
    - Won this type of game (got 400 chips) in 4 ocasions (8%)
    - Won this type of game (got 400 chips) in 3 ocasions as a result of cheating (6%)

You can start with my table if you like, since I choose specifically the number 2. the only losing combinations i got were 3/5/7 and 4/4/11 as shown below

Hey guys. Thanks for this thread. Came here looking for something akin to this.

I have a different question though along the same lines. When playing craps, what's the best number to pick? I've been doing 7 and have hit well over 90% of the time, but I get 110 chips which isn't a LOT, but per the info below, both are averaging below 110. Playing 12 got me very few chips, far less than 25% of the time did I connect.

Plus, with the occasional loaded dice & changing the number, the cheats fluff that number a bit.

If anybody has any ideas as to which number is best, please post!

I like playing Dice because it seems to be quicker than using the Slot Machines all the time

I don't see how dice will ever be better than slots. The odds of winning "something" besides the loss token are so much higher on the slots over the dice.

I'd also like to see a time comparison.

i.e. the time it takes to do 50 slot spins compared with the time it takes to 50 rounds of dice.
