I thought part of the point of this thread was to combine these small data sets and see if a larger trend could be found.
That's why I contributed my results. But for me, personally, dice sucks everytime. It always has. Even in the beginning when people claimed it was so much better than Moe's, and they released a patch for it. Even before the patch I was still losing at dice. Maybe I'm just very unlucky at it, which seems weird, because you would think it would be purely random. But for me, dice is always a big loser.
really? when it first came out it was awesome for my B-Town my A-Town wasnt as great.
Regardless of number choosen i'd always win, even if i lost, the game would just insta cheat at the end insuring insane gains, after 5 rolls i had 1710 in chips
but my main town, the wins were very mediocre, now that its a bit more understood it can be played a bit more strategically but i want to wait for the last minigame before deciding which one is the best to grind.
Here are my results for the dice game. I varied numbers up and still usually lost.
As you can see, 7 would be chock full of fail for me and that has been consistent even before I started recording the numbers.
Thank you everyone who shared their results and thoughts.
Sorry that I can't reply to every post, it takes too much time and efforts to write in English but I keep working and process your data trying to follow the original idea of the experiment. Thank you again guys!
I made another 2 series of 5 rounds of 22 games (220 games) and the results look more smooth. Now although there is still a slight advantage on Dice side it seems that if you play equal number at Slots and Dice (but surely all numbers in a sequence, not always the same number) you will get the best results in long term perspective. Will upload the updated table later.
I keep playing this combination and if you have something to share - welcome!

you can always put up the link for people to fill in the data. then we just need to analyse it. mainly in cletus dice game we need loads of info to make any conclusion

Yeah I would be tempted to say the dice hated me. Except they are a virtual representation of inanimate objects incapable of emotions. :-) I do wonder what Homer's will be like though.
Have no data to back anything up....I will try to keep a log one day for comparison....But I much prefer Slots machine.
I definitely do better and win more often.
I feel the dice game is definitely loaded, but not necessarily in a way that's against us. I think the odds of getting certain numbers changes depending on what number you choose (for example, choosing 7 means you're much more likely to roll a 7. But when you choose another number, like 12, you're much less likely to see a 7 and maybe even more likely to see a 12 despite the chance of rolling a 7 being the highest).
So if any calculations are to be done, it has to be done with the same number choice (so choose 1, twenty times, and see what the chance of rolling a 1 is, and do the same for each number). This way, we can figure out what is the optimal number choice, and see whether it truly is better or worse than slots (which seems a bit more random to me).

I'm afraid it will be a mess, as you can see most of the provided results are irrelevant to the experiment's conditions. We will have lots of output data but it will be impossible to process them.
I really hated to waste 11 chips at Cletus suck shack, but I wanted to prove how bad it is, so I did. Here are my results with dice versus slots. As you can see, slots blows it away.
Thank you for sharing! Such a pity you had to spend tokens for almost nothing. But unfortunately I can't use it, because you played 9 two times (2 is missing).
So did anyone go through the data provided and found out what the best option is yet?
Edit: autocorrect...
It seems that with the course of time you will get equal income from them. I play both 50/50 and thought it was the best combination until I've got some data from my friend today morning. His income from Slots is 4 (!) times better than from Dice. But he played just 44 games and he doesn't want to play Dice any more so we can not check whether it will be compensated in future.
Here is the Google Doc with all stats I collected.
Thanks for doing this. I took a quick look, but it seems like if more data were collected, it may narrow the gap between the two i.e. in the long run we would find that overall payouts of the two are the same.

I agree. In the absence of very strong evidence that Dice are better than Slots, I'd favour Slots just because it's faster.
NOW... let's get ready for the great Slots vs. Dice vs. Cards controversy!
